I did the “as is” on a sale but they always come back and try, but SWMBO is tougher…

I probably shouldn't  complain  because I lived in this house for 16 years and doubled my money. But my plan is to not have any mortgage in the next house and have some money to get things we might need. The nickle and dimeing are cutting into the bonus money.

On a positive note I believe I know right where my net and simulator are going in the garage. That opening with the red curtain looks like the perfect size. But I will evaluate once we are settled in. I might have to open up that area a bit more. It looks close though.

After some lengthy deliberation over the weekend and with the stuff I am working on for a couple business adventures time on a golf forum doesn’t fit into my schedule. Sometime this week I’ll be logging off. I haven’t decided if I’ll just log off or if I will ask that my account be removed completely.

Its been a fun 6 years and a couple months but this run has come to an end

This is a HUGE bummer, I personally love your insight on the golf swing and helping people like myself understand our swings better and how to make them better.

I understand though and good luck in your ventures moving forward.

Heating went out last week. HVAC was finally able to check it out on Tuesday and found a cracked heat exchanger and it needs a new motor. Now it's in the landlord's hands to decide what to do about it. In the meantime, it has been getting down into the 30s at night so the house has been a bit cold in the morning. Nothing like many of you in colder climates, but enough to be uncomfortable and bring out the anger in the wife and kids.

My course... Columbia Point GC... is a muni in the city of Richland WA.  Hole #13, 14, 15 all border the 4 lane main street into town.  When I leave the GC parking lot, I drive by holes 11, 12, and 13 to get to that main street where this is of course... a traffic light.

This photo was taken at that intersection about 3:45 this afternoon.  Zoom in on the pedestrian; that's a flagstick he's carrying!!!  Where did he get it?

IMG_5691.jpg.12d1e07bbb489c44831780765f0cba0c.jpg

The course has lost several of the flags on the flagsticks this past year... all of them Red/White.  Did we just lose a flagstick too??  I haven't heard, but will check tomorrow.

I spoke to some recently and discovered he had worked for a VA clinic near me and naturally the subject of military service came up. He asked if I received any VA service, and I told him I did not and didn’t think I qualified. He assured me I did.

So I went to the clinic, applied for service disability hearing loss. I was asked to schedule a hearing test just over a month later. I had the test, and I was told to expect a 6-8 week wait for any further action.

Then in just over two weeks I received a letter stating the VA accepted responsibility due to my MOS for 50% of my hearing loss in each ear and 10% of my tinnitus and the VA is going to pay me a monthly stipend. I was, and still am, shocked since it took so little time to process the data and since it’s been so long since I got out of the Army in ’74.

The VA got much better a few years ago.

Since moving to Florida I've noticed a huge difference in the VA care here vs. in Philly. Quite an improvement in the quality and timeliness of care. They get a double thumbs up from me.

Although I used the VA for medical and dental care for a few years after I got out of the USMC in 1969, I have not done so in many years. Because I constantly heard how bad VA medical care is in NJ and the Philadelphia area, I have avoided going to the VA.

There's a VA clinic in Horsham that's fine for routine things like bloodwork and minor issues, however I'd avoid the hospital in Philly like the plague. H

I kinda went through the same thing last week. We own an older mobile home and that old furnace is sorta pieced together. Not a lot of people work on the older furnaces anymore. But we do have a fall back we do have the woodstove was in here when we bought the place 22 years ago. My central air went out 2 years ago right when I got hurt so we have used "redneck ACs" as in window units. When I recieved my settlement last year we checked around and decided that it was cheaper to do some work instead of move. And really for us there was no where else we wanted to go. In the last 3 months we have had more insulation and new Vinyl siding installed. One of my golf buds is semi retired and is a carpenter handy man by trade. He works by himself and did not take on the siding job. I did have him rebuild the front porch including the wheelchair ramp. The ramp was here when we bought the place. In fact legally it did not cost me to re do the ramp because that came out of the medical fund money set aside seperately for medical supplies etc related to my accident Since we are staying I think I am going to spend the money and put in a central heat and A/C system. Oh trust me I will keep and still use the wood stove.
