I have two sets of irons, Ping G25 and PXG 0211 and two options for my sand wedge, a Callaway MD3 and a Mack Daddy CB. My home course is typically very wet and soggy when the season opens. I will play the clubs that have a wider sole in these conditions, the Ping G25 irons and Mack Daddy CB. Does anyone else do something like this?

Easily the best day of the year, 70 degrees and almost no wind. It was an absolute perfect day… other than my golf game. Honestly too embarrassed to even post in the “how’d you play” thread….

just wow. Not a fun day on the course but a great day to be outside and walk 18 holes on a beautiful course. 
I hope everyone had a great day and enjoyed it even if ever so slightly.  Now time for a drink and to make some chicken and broccoli

I took my first ride of the year on the lawnmower. It's supposed to be rainy all weekend, so I got home and cranked it up. I was happy to see the battery held its charge throughout the winter. It was a beautiful 80 degree day with a nice breeze that made it a pleasure to be out cutting grass.

I was the first one out on the course today and my cart and I made fresh tracks. There is a lot of water on the course and being the first one out and being the only thing edible the gnats and the mosquitos bugged me (no pun intended) quite a bit.

I dabbled with another golf forum. And the rudeness and self entitlement on it was the craziest stuff I ever read. It’s like a group of college buddies who team up and bash anyone who goes against the grain. Oddest damn thing ever 

 

supposed to be hackers forum. But everyone is an expert and no one else knows anything. Will avoid that place like COVID

The Fisherman,

On Friday I was playing golf and caught up to a group of three on hole 17. I only had two holes left and wasn’t in a rush. What was I going to do play through with one hole left?

The 18th hole is a par 5 and the green is pretty much surrounded by water except for maybe 20 yards directly behind the green. The three gentleman finished up and returned to their carts. They each had their own. I’m 200 out and in the center of the fairway with a cart getting ready to hit when one of them comes back with a ball retriever and goes fishing for balls. Never even picked his head up and looked to see if anyone was coming. He worked around the entire green. I was going to yell but then decided to just be quiet as I’m a new member and didn’t want to start something. Then I thought about hitting but the green is small and the likely hood of hitting him was better than average. He started walking back to his cart but then stopped, turned around and worked his way back around the pond again looking for more balls. This took a good 20 minutes. I was going to complain in the pro shop but then he was sitting in there cutting up with the Pro and other members.

I don’t mind people looking for balls but don’t hold up someone else. Next time I’m yelling to clear the green. 

I so can’t tolerate inconsiderate or oblivious people.

That’s BS, I definitely would have told him I’m coming in hot Groucho better duck.  
I’m alleged to have a patience problem but I disagree.

Add a megaphone to your golf bag, it is of course to ensure a FORE! will be heard moments before ball impact.

Definitely inconsiderate.     I probably would have made an off handed comment when I walked by him talking to the pro along the lines of:   must have been a lot of balls in that pond; you must have been fishing for 20 minutes while I was in the fairway; hope you got some good ones.

We were talking about this review a couple of weeks ago in the community call and how your review was the benchmark for forum reviews. I jumped over there just now, I didn't read just looked at the photos and have to say, those were primo!

Ok so there is hope. Two more courses near me are opening tomorrow and Wed. This one in the pic still has a bunch of fairway snow so may be a few more days.  Walked past it today with my youngest and the dog. 3:00pm tee time on Wed with my son taking him right from school to get some work in as his home course isn’t open yet and he doesn’t have some practice on Wed for now.  78 tomorrow and 85 Wed.  But 40’s coming back for the weekend.  Yuck

My youngest son turned 9 today.  That makes me 32 days from turning 40…
