I played 18 with a friend from work there and immediately pointed at the hole and went into a very descriptive tirade on that hole before we teed off on the first. I hate that #$&@ hole.

I know you hate that hole. Is there another way to play it?  Different club off the tee to keep you out of trouble?

I play a lot of 9 hole rounds. @Lacassem and I try to play them pretty much every Thursday in the summer that were not on vacation.

Would I rather play 18? Sure. And are there days I feel like I really could score well with 18? You bet.  But with three little ones running around I don’t always have the time for the 18 hole round.

Tomorrow I got 18 on the books though! Hopefully my game shows up as we’re out bright an early.

edit: it’s usually on a 9 hole course too, so there’s no 10th tee for me to look at with wide eyes as I stroll to the parking lot.

5 kids in the Shanks house… play faster. 😂😂😂

Does anyone else feel like they are leaving something out there when you only play 9 holes?  Walking by that 10th tee yesterday… I had already drawn up my shot…

I rarely play 9, doesn’t feel right.  Haha.

It’s tough to get a full 18 consistently for me, I could more easily do 2 9s a week, but yes at times I feel a little incomplete because i am usually warming up by hole 5-15

A fairway wood or 6 iron would probably be a better option, but for some reason I always try driver. I'll have to throw a couple of balls down and hit a couple of different clubs one day and see if it works. A shift in strategy might pay off by not giving away shots.

Got an overflight picture?  What’s the deal with #10?  Let’s work this out, right here, right now.

Here ya go! I marked the hole off in red marker and the tee box is marked with an x.

Here's a photo from the tee box, it's about 60 feet between the trees and I usually end up pulling my drive into the ones on the left.

Great movie.  I’ve learned on thing I’ve the past 15 years… (that’s how long I’ve been a parent)…. Jam as much personal time in as you can.  So if you get 1 hour… make it a full hour, don’t waste a second.  That’s why I started playing “speed golf”.  Haha.

Family first always though.

Normal shot shape?

for me, this looks like a “must draw” hole… which already makes me mad… I can see why you hate it.

Pretty much, you miss right and you're sitting in a lie with the ball above your feet and possibly having to avoid the trees on that side.

It's also about 165 to take the pond out of play according to Google maps.

This is what I’d probably do.

170 club, aim between those two trees.  If it rolls it, you might catch the rough.  But that would leave you ~110-115 into the green, free and clear of the giant trees on the left.

Have you tried the Bryson line? Just tee that baby high and smash a baby fade over the left tree line.
