I was meandering about with my calendar and just realized that I only have 14 more days to work until Dec 30th, which is scheduled to be my retirement date. Yep, that's right......Retirement! I never thought this time would come, but alas, it has finally come down to only 14 work days.

Good for you!!! You are gonna LOVE ❤️ it!

Congratulations fozcycle.   I'm sure you will enjoy being a retired guy.   Likewise, I can't wait for when someone asks me what do you do, I can respond I am retired.   Now, I kind of hedge it and say--not much, I'm semi-retired.  I play in a couple of local senior associations and am often asked why aren't you retired.   I respond-I was born handsome instead of rich.

Congratulations Foz!!  I did it last year and I am quite happy about it.  I have been asked if I was going to go back and work part-time (a lot of people in my business do).  I said no.

However, when people ask me what I do, I tell them

"Oh, I...play a lot of golf."

Today is special as my Dad served in Pearl Harbor. He would sit and talk to me about what happened during the early morning of this historic day. As a Vietnam veteran myself, I could relate to the fear and anxiety that those brave men faced during the attack. God bless those soldiers who are still with us and the families of those loss on that fatal morning.

Hats off to you, Sir, and to the memory of your father!

It truly amazes me to see and hear the stories from the (literal) handful of guys still around who were there......

NICE!!!!!!!!!!!

But... Since you "just realized" .. does that imply you actually .. egad it's hard to say out loud .. that you .. gasp .. .. that you _like_ your job??!!??!!????

I retired two and half years ago and haven't looked back. Took me a good year and a half to really start to feel better, and more consistently, though .. hope your "recovery" is quick

Congratulations on the coming retirement! Funny, I just realized that I only have 16 more shopping days to figure out a gift for my wife. So what do I do, I do what any other Golfer does, spend a few hours on MGS and put off thinking about it until tomorrow, lol...

Husband and Wife Christmas Shopping

A couple were in a busy shopping center just before Christmas. The wife suddenly noticed that her husband was missing and as they had a lot to do, so she called him on the mobile.

The wife said " Where are you, you know we have lots to do."

He said "You remember the jewelers we went into about 10 years ago, and you fell in love with that diamond necklace? I could not afford it at the time and I said that one day I would get it for you?"

Little tears started to flow down her cheek and she got all

choked up…

"Yes, I do remember that shop." she replied.

"Well I am in the golf shop next door to that."

Ha ha ha awesome! Looks like I have less days than I thought. I'll be working late next week so no time to shop afterwards. So now I'm down to 11 days and nary a clue this year as to what to get her. Oh well, back to checking out more golf stuff on MLS... Lol

I'm trying to remember the name of them fancy drawers someone was bragging about recently.  Was it Tommy Johns?  I'm being asked for what I want for a stocking stuffer for Christmas so heck I might as well try some of the world class drawers! :D

These seem to be more your style.

I agree.  I also don't know have the term "old fart" became popular.   The older one gets, the more one must be careful about passing their gas because as one ages their dreams become dry and their farts become wet.

Its like the elderly lady sitting in church with her husband.   She leaned over to her husband and said--it just cut a silent fart, what should I do.   The husband replied, the first thing I would do is get a new battery for your hearing aid.
