No golf for me for the next 3 days!!  

 

The Washington State High School state championships boys and girls are in town this week at four different courses.  My course is hosting the 3A Boys.  Practice round today; play Tuesday and Wednesday.  It's going to be a hot one... 97* tomorrow.

Teeing up at 09:30 this morning and I'll be putting my new Mizuno 16 degree hybrid in play.  Yep maiden voyage for little blue. I have big blue which is my Cobra F6 driver and now little blue which will be my go to for short par 4 holes and long approach shots on the big par fours & fives.

Thanks buddy!  I have two issues that will confront me today and one I know will have to be modified asap.  I will have to change the grip on the hybrid to a midsize and the shaft may be an issue. The only 16 degree that I could find was one with a stiff shaft.  I haven't played with a stiff shaft in quite some time.   At least that's what momma said last night.

It's been rain and cold again for over a week (again).

 

4 inches of rain over the past week in our rain gauge..  and FINALLY got to play 18 yesterday (even though the course was soaked, with standing water on most of the fairways).

 

It looks like we might actually get a stretch of decent weather over the next week, or so.

 

This has been the worst stretch of "Spring" for golfing I can remember.

We had a 30* drop in temperature yesterday over Tuesday, and the wind was still blowing.  Hard two days of golf for the H.S. State Championships.  A beautiful 73* today so I am headed out to see what the juniors did to the course.  This will be the coolest day for quite awhile.  It will be pushing the 100* mark this Memorial Day weekend.

The big dawg is in the house today!  DawgDaddy is heading up to Lane Creek to join our Thursday group of old coots for a little fun.  It's ALWAYS a pleasure when the Big Dawg heads our way!

Teed it up at my men's league yesterday. Played through a lightning storm too. I know, I know.. But the lightning was a few miles away and besides, lightning hits the tallest thing right? Well I'm the shortest of my group, but poor Carolina Golfer 2 would be hit for sure 😂 being short has its advantages, lol...

I have had some family issues come up, so not for the foreseeable future. Maybe with my son at a local pitch and putt every now and then but that's about it.

My Tuesday round looks like a wash out so I'm packing up my stuff and heading to the course this morning.  It may be a three round week because it looks like Wednesday will be our senior blitz day and another round on Thursday which is one of our regular play days.

Have our early - summmer blow out today with the men's club.Played in this two years ago and shot one of my best tourney rounds (78).A par 70 course with a tricky yardage of 5700 yards.Not sure what to expect really.But another great round would really help get some confidence back.They gave me as an 16 handicapper in this event.Have a net and gross division.Weather is perfect/clubs are clean and shoes polished.See what happens

Absolutely beautiful today!!  72* sunny and no wind.  I haven't walked the course in three weeks, and today I am walking with my three guys regular partners.  I noticed over the weekend that my legs were yelling at me when I walked up a few mounds on the course to get to the cart.  I hope I make it 18 holes!!

Looking to redeem myself today after yesterday's blood bath.Courses will be dead quiet today.Perfect time for a solo-don't worry about score afternoon.Seriously thinking about forgetting about score rest of this season(except tourneys).Im not one to give up.But took a ton of soul searching to tee it again so soon.Thought about fishing

Not playing until Friday. Got a little golf trip with a couple buddies setup. 2 rounds Friday, 1 Saturday, and 1 Sunday. Hopefully the weather cooperates up here in the Pacific Northwest!

A buddy called me up late last night and convinced me to play tomorrow am.I really don't feel like at all honestly.He plays maybe 2 or 3 rounds a year and just needed a partner.Im just dreading even going and hitting bad shot after bad shot.Me and golf are in a bad relationship now and need an marital intervention

played in a bramble yesterday .... 95 with no breeze... brutal.  we shot 3 over; it was so hot the energy was just sucked right out of you.

Enjoy it for what it is though, out with a buddy golfing don't stress out about your golf game. It is what is is right now. Work on it when you can.

No doubt. I work where there isn't any AC, so I'm pretty used to the extreme heat. I'll definitely be going out, just don't know if I'll stay all day like I usually do. Fingers crossed the pool is empty!
