Around here all courses are open when it gets below freezing... As long as it stays below freezing. Good time to play; lots of roll in the fairways but can't land ball on the greens!

I was actually thinking the same thing  about the reverse combo some time during one of my next  rounds.   

 

Quick impressions, I hit the AP2 end much better today than the JPX, but hitting the 8-P better than 4-6 isn't a real shock..HA   Overall just didn't have anything going today, fortunately it was a 2 man scramble, so I didn't have to play off my horrible tee shtos. My partner (our Superintendent) actually put us in really good shape on most holes.  So I got to hit a lot of the 8 and 9 with the AP2 and they were oh so nice!!   Hit a few 5 and 6 irons from some par 3's and didn't really hit them that well.  But that was more on my balky swing today than the clubs for sure.

We played 18 on a chilly high 40's with 20 mph wind day. However, anytime you can play in late November (in northwest Ohio) is a good day. Looks like next Monday and Tuesday will be a go as well so the honey do projects are on temporary hold.

Got a nice Black Friday round in today.

52* 13 mph wind but sunny.

2nd time I have been able to golf this late in the season in West MI

Looks like I might be teeing it up tomorrow morning. A buddy of mine has a voucher for a free foursome to one of the nicer courses in the area. I've barely played there since my buddy stopped working the pro shop and they jacked the rates up.

 

Looking to be a high of 60* so it should be a decent day too!

 

The only hiccup is he hasn't called the course yet so who knows what time we can get out.

As expected, they were all out. I'll keep hanging on for a good deal because I know it'll eventually come.

 

Thankfully, the traffic, parking, and crowds were barely more than a normal weekend. Piece of cake really. Just a bummer I didn't find the deals I was looking for.

We are pretty much ordering from Amoazon for most of the gifts we are getting, some of the prices are 20 or more dollars different from the stores. Example is a pair of shoes I was looking at, the store has them for 65, we can get them from amazon for 42, with free shipping. That just makes sense. Most of the things my son wants are electronics, and you can find some good deals on amazon. You just have to be careful to see where you are getting it from, there are a lot of “overseas” items on there. I will also shop at the online retail stores too, it's easier to get it on line than it is to go to the store. We went out to a couple stores yesterday just to get out of the house in he afternoon, the lines weren't too bad at most of the stores, except for Kohl's, that line was about a half mile long, it wrapped around the entire store alomost, minimum wait time was at least 90 min. No thank you.

Breton Bay Golf and Country Club in Leonardtown. Not many people have heard of it because it's tucked way down here but it really is a beautiful and challenging course. They host a pretty large amateur tournament ever year on Father's day. It's flighted by HC but scored gross. I played once before but haven't been able to pull the trigger in recent years.

 

But yes I played. I posted it in the "how'd you play?" thread. The fairways are going dormant but the greens are in phenomenal shape. I don't mind playing as the temps get closer to freezing but it's still nice to get out on good days

Oh yeah. I've heard of it. Matter of fact I had a chance to play there a few weeks ago with our Super and GM, but had a Dr's appointment that usually requires a 6 month lead time for an appointment. So I couldn't cancel it.

Will do. Not sure how often the invite will roll around. But hope to make it at some point for sure next year.

 

Also will have to get you up to Lake Presidential in the spring when they open up off the cart path. I think you'll like that course a lot.

Got to play yesterday for the first time in over a month.  Our season ended early and my home course closed in Oct this year, earliest in the 6 years I've been here.  Had a couple random courses open up this weekend due to temps in the 40's so got to sneak out.

 

The course was pretty short (6100yds from the tips) and the greens had been top dressed so tons of sand everywhere but I managed to shot a 75 somehow so it was a great way to end the season.

 

I've got one more round next week on the Cleveland trip and then it'll all be indoor until the spring.
