Well, no golf for me for a few days.  Jonesco was so wet they would not let carts out and with my back I cannot walk.  Having an ablation on the right side of my back tomorrow so I may be able to play on Friday, we'll see.

Well, no golf for me for a few days. Jonesco was so wet they would not let carts out and with my back I cannot walk. Having an ablation on the right side of my back tomorrow so I may be able to play on Friday, we'll see.

Lane Creek is allowing play however cart path only. I'll be heading out tomorrow to play with my Tuesday crowd although it will be a smaller crew due to cart restrictions.

Yeah, I know a lot  of us geezers can't go the cart path only restriction any more.  About 5 or 6 holes and thats it for me.  

 

For some reason my phone would not call into Jonesco so I rode over any way.  When I got there and was talking to Merle I tried the number to the pro shop.  Standing right there it still would not go through, cost me a ride over and back but it was worth it just to get out.

Is there a certain age that people reach when calls to a golf course just don't work anymore??  Hmmm!  I wonder.    ;)

I was supposed to play today but last night's storm and it's 60 mph gusts left the course unplayable.

I've hit it in the store on five different occasions with different shafts etc. before pulling the trigger on it.   I took it to the range last Sunday and the results I was seeing was encouraging to say the least.  Putting it in play on the golf course with a few bucks up for grab is a different animal... :unsure:   Let's see how this dawg hunts today :D

If you are so in love with it, maybe you should have chipped and putted with it too.   :D   I played with a guy last year that didn't have a putter in his bag because he said he couldn't putt at all.  He used his driver and was pretty good with it.

If you are so in love with it, maybe you should have chipped and putted with it too.   :D   I played with a guy last year that didn't have a putter in his bag because he said he couldn't putt at all.  He used his driver and was pretty good with it.

 

Hey,,,   I ain't scared to putt with my driver... ;)   Just saying I hit some beauties off the tee today, hit my irons decent, and sucked like a Electrolux around and on the green.  I will be heading out early tomorrow to put an hour on nothing but chipping and putting...

Frost delay this morning, supposed to be really nice when it burns off, just need a bit of sunshine. It got down to 25 last night, clear open skies all night.

Hmmmmmm thinking about getting out today however high today is going to be 52ish with wind gusts this afternoon.  :unsure:    Funny thing is a few years back when I lived in middle Georgia, we had a regular group that played every weekend inclement weather or not. The only time we would not play is if there were thunderstorms are if the greens were frozen.  We had cart covers and small propane heaters that fit in the cup holders.   It was always on like donkey kong :D

This isn't a post I make very often but today I'm getting together with some of my old golf buds. We rarely play that much together anymore so It's going to be especially fun. We'll pair up in the normal day game today. What I like about what's in store is all the BS and gambling that's going to be taking place. In addition to the overall skins game in the day game we'll also have our own 4-way Nassau and skins and junk too. The weather is nice today also. Light breeze, sunny and 55*, with fast greens. Should be very interesting. And lucrative $$ perhaps?

Playing at 10:30 this morning and after walking my dog and feeling the wind a few minutes ago, this will be one cold arse round of golf.  :unsure:  It's going to be in the lower fifties with gusts of wind so extra clothes and gloves is the order of the day.

Developed a cyst-like bump on my back that has a low grade pain so I have an appt with Dr this morning at the VA Outpatient Clinic. I think Thursdays is going to be my "no golf" day.
