Which Is Your Preference?

I do walk every round locally (a trip down to La Quinta I rode) but because I do walk every time, there are some nice courses near me I never play. Two courses right down the road from me are nice courses set in the vineyards, beautiful scenery, very challenging and fair tracts, but they are cart centric. Tee boxes 200 yards down a winding path from the previous green on half the holes and no walking rate means I just don't play them.

Being a walking only golfer has actually limited me to about half the courses in my area as many are unwalkable due to lay out.

Definitely the same way I feel when I walk versus when I ride. I've always felt more focused and have been able to get in a groove when I'm on my feet the whole time. It begs the question though, with so many of us agreeing that walking provides the most results, why don't more of us do it? I just wonder with most of us seeming to fit into the box of "serious golfer" why we aren't maximizing every ounce of our games on a round by round basis?

Hmm... I guess it's like food. We may try to eat right on 85-95% of our meals, but every once in awhile we have to have some good food that is bad for us. It's part of life I guess.

how do you describe a serious golfer? I play 3 rounds a month and practice twice a week. Beyond that I actually get sick of the game

For me, I can play a lot more if I ride. Many times, we play a morning round, eat lunch, then play an afternoon round. I would die if I walked two rounds in the same day... ;)

Just ordered a Jones bag! Anytime I play I have my blue tooth speaker going with some tunes, If I'm the only walker I just enjoy my music!

Really wanted to pick up a Jones bag during their Black Friday sale but can't justify it after getting a new Sun Mountain carry bag so recently.

Enjoy yours!

I walk. I used to carry until I had knee surgery. I now have a clicgear 3.5 and love it. I admit as others have that I don't feel tired from carrying and my legs feel a lot better at the end of the round. I find that my clubs don't feel heavy on the last 4-5 holes. I still get the benefit of walking but save the strain on my shoulders and legs.

The fatigue at the end of the round is going to be interesting. I've never carried before so I can't directly relate to that. I can obviously imagine, but I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel.

Maybe a push cart will be in my future, or maybe I'll be blessed with enough stamina to have no issues.

I had a Clicgear 3.5+ for the first part of 2016 and I switched to carrying the majority of the time. I'll ride on occasion, but I definitely prefer to carry. It's good exercise and I enjoy having time to think between shots!

I usually will carry.  My partners in league both carry, so that does help.  I will ride when I am the only one walking, no need for them to wait for me or for me to feel rushed.  I have found that the right bag does help 100% when walking.  I carry my bag, and will always use a PING bag for that reason.

I walk with a buggy.  Thinking of buying a stand/carry bag to take away with me when I travel.

I have carted a few times, but don't enjoy the rushing between shots. I like to take the course in & need the time between shots to think & relax.
