Front came through Monday and brought high winds and blew the crap from the street back into my yard. I came home from work Monday to see a mini tornado of leaves swirling around my front yard. Well my airbags didn't deployed so I'm grateful for that. The occupants in the other car initially didn't say they were hurt (there was a language barrier) but then requested an ambulance for one of the kids that said their head started hurting. It was their fault for turning in an intersection while I had a green light right of way. They were issued a citation and 3 warnings. Having had my daughter on the other side of that equation a few weeks ago just be glad everyone is okay. While it is a pain to have to get a car repaired or replaced it could have been far worse for everyone. This was my main concern as well. All joking aside. I checked on the other vehicle's occupants several times to make sure they weren't trapped or needed further assistance. I had an off duty County police dispatcher right behind me who witnessed the entire incident and notes the other vehicle failed to yield making the turn. MDGolfHacker Hacker, really sorry to hear of your accident, but genuinely happy that you were not physically hurt. It is my understanding, I'm not certain, that determining a vehicle is totaled is an economic factor. That is, if it costs more to fix it than to replace it, it will be considered totaled. Under any circumstance, having been in a accident, make sure that you are compensated for the lost value of the vehicle.
