I figured out the putting issues. It's the 260lb person attached to the grip.

I did find something interesting while trying multiple putters at the GG today. On long putts (lag) a standard grip works pretty good. But when I tried 10' putts I was missing them to the right (pull) with every putter I tried. So I went to a cross handed style grip, and I was able to get the ball on a straighter line toward the hole. I'm not sure if I am pulling the ball with my shoulders, or if I am turning my wrist during the stroke, both cause the same issue. I am going to try some cross handed putting tomorrow on some shorter putts and see if that helps or at the very least gets the ball starting straight to my target

I was annoyed with my caddie today. I have a range finder and he wouldn't use it all day. Kept telling me the yardage then I had to gun it. Sometimes he was correct sometimes he was off by 17 yards. He also read some greens wrong which one of them I saw a break and he said “I've been working here for 15 years” so I putt it straight and took a dive. Very annoying experience Just use the range finder, you aren't impressing me telling me distances. Use the range finder and that's it.

I get it but it was mandatory you walk and take a caddy

Sounds like a place where they wouldn't allow me on the property.

Even for food deliveries to the grille.

My club doesn't even have caddies anymore.

Nobody wants to do it.

It's not worth putting up with us old grumps.

Sounds like a place I wouldn't even want to go. For me, I have two legs that work, I don't need someone carrying my clubs. I don't need a servant, I can do it myself. Probably too much of an "entitled" atmosphere for me.

To follow up from my pitting rants lately, I putted exclusively cross- handed today. It went way better than the last multiple number of rounds. I learned 2 things. 1. Putting outside of 20 feet, I need to putt standard grip to lag. 2. My miss was from a lazy stroke that would hit out toward the toe of the putter instead of the center, when I did hit the center I made really good putts toward the hole and many went in. If I hit out on the toe l, the ball went a bit left to start and always cam e up short, overall I am pretty happy with the change, I think I just need to practice it a bit more.

Well, if that was the situation I would have used my own range finder and pulled my own clubs, and read my own putts, and told the caddie to rake the trap when I hit in there and that would have been it. Otherwise I would have just told him to STFU.

Like I told my brother today, when he was telling me about his round at Shinnecock Hills where they also required a caddie, "I'm the world's best caddie! Steve Williams can SUCK IT!"

there's a sign at a restaurant I frequent that says, "Hire a teenager, while they still know everything."

Not that you asked for advice, but the easiest way to combat the teenager with an attitude is to just tell them no to everything. It worked for my Dad with me, as I then did everything on my own, and bought everything with my own money, which is probably what my parents wanted me to do to begin with.

Sadly, it sounds like your wife my veto this approach to teenage parenting, which is exactly why these kids have that self-entitlement mentality. They've got to have a cell phone, because we have to be able to constantly get in touch with them. They have to have a computer, their own room, their own this, and their own that. Heaven forbid we say no to the spoiled snowflakes. They might call DHS on us and have us arrested.

My Daughter is 18, and we still struggle with the “bossing” around her brother. We always tell her, you aren't the mom.. hang it there. These are some tough years for teenage girls.

It usually all works out, teenage girls are put on this earth to drive their fathers completely nuts. I survived the twin girls almost killed a couple of teenage twerp boys. Both my daughters are college grads, masters degree, decent jobs, both married (1 son-in-law I like) and 2 great grandkids each. It'll work out for you. BTW, get your wife in your side, they are cunning and know how to work you 2 to their advantage.

There's me an my brother and we have two sisters.

Mom said we were so much easier to raise than the girls. Of course this was in the late 60's and 70's. Times were definitely different then.
