Network TV - you could have shown the BMW finish!

It was on GC and we saw the one hole playoff.

We are doing the “research” with the “cut the cord” group but from what I saw we were going to be missing a lot of what we (war dept) watches. It looks like Direct TV may be the winner.

We stream virtually all of the shows we watch (also have a inexpensive digital antenna). Only things I miss are the GC and History Channel.

My wife got back from the dentist and is going to have an implant on one of her back teeth this Friday.  Cost about $2K after insurance, and that doesn't include cleanings every 3 months for a year at $220 each.  That's about the cost of our annual golf club membership.   :(

Well, I went to the course to play in my usual Monday morning round walking with the guys.  The parking lot was empty, except for the cars of the staff and one guy on the range.  I walk in and the pro says the course is closed until Tuesday at 12:30pm... aerating... the whole course... including the short game area, range is open.  I was there yesterday, and no one mentioned it and there were no signs.  Crap!

Look into FUBO tv, it's a sports driven cord cutting option. It also has many of the other channels that are watched.

Ok disclaimer. I understand Hurricane Florence is likely going to be deviststing to the Carolina coast, and most of you know if my attachment to that area. And I'll be keeping all my family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.

Ok that said.

Why in the world are golf outing planners in the Baltimore area canceling or postponing their outings on Wed and Thursday??? The damn thing isn't expected to make landfall until Thursday afternoon 350 miles to the South!!

If anything we are expected to get some rain Friday afternoon and into Sarueday.

I swear these are probably the same people that raid the grocery stores when 2" of snow is predicted.

They are just buying into the hype of the local weather people here who are doing breaking news updates every hour now.

I think I'm going to hate the name Florence for a long time.

At least I'll be in Ohio this weekend golfing with spies!!

I am never buying and selling a house ever again. What a pain in the rear. What's the deal with the here's my offer but don't tell me for 48 hours, here's my counter but don't tell me for 48 hours... crap?

Takes me 3 minutes to decide if I like his “requests” or not, I don't need 48 hours.

I'm at about the end of my patience and attention span with this junk. It's ridiculous.

I definitely feel like the “buyer” is trying to take advantage of me, and I am not falling for it. I've already done a lot, he wants me to lower the price and do more work.

I'm not doing it.

A "buyers" vs. "sellers" market aside, it gets down to how bad you want to sell vs. how bad they want to buy. I'm guessing some, if not all, of what they want is associated with a home inspection?  That's become quite a racket.  Hell, they could find things to write up on new construction.  Remind your buyers and their agent you're selling a used home and feel the price reflects that.

I totally agree that real estate transactions are both a PITA and overpriced (fees). We paid nearly $50K in transaction fees for our house sale in WA and it had 3 offers within 48 hours. Worse, if you opt to try and sell yourself, agents will go out of their way to black-ball you.

Good rant topic, thanks for allowing me to rail along with you.

Hold to your guns.  I'd get out of the deal and see if the other buyer is still interested.  They figured they got you since you accepted the original offer.  I hate when people do that.  Don't let them low ball you.

I just feel like it's so damn secretive. I did remind them that it is used, it was built in the 50's, had a remodel in the early 00's... but he is being a jerk. I'm not budging. He thought he could come back after the inspection.

Some of the stuff he is asking for me to fix is laughable though.

I plan on it.

Wants me to hire an electrician to replace an outlet, and add an attic light... nope, I can do that in 10 minutes for around $7 and not have to pay $75 a hour.

Nope and nope.  I agreed to a price and that's what they should get.  Those are things they can do AFTER they move in. They are just taking advantage of you at this point.

Exactly how I feel. I finished a bathroom for him, that was a crap load of work and time.

Best of luck - Sounds like the buyer is being a putz.

Is the buyer new to owning a house? I ask because what HG TV lovers expect in their first home buying process can be interesting. That channel one of the worst things to ever happened to my wife and wallet.

My fallback when I went through "Buyer" vs "Seller" talks was - I will work with you on safety and health concerns. If you want to change anything else you're free to do so when you own it.

Yeah, I'm onboard with safety stuff, like i am adding a hand rail. But other than that, the other stuff is just not picky. I don't think he owns a house. A dead outlet... what harm does that do?

Dude, I wouldn't of even have done that!  Those are wish lists, not anything that has to do with the structural validity of the house.  I would of said no and have a good day, then kicked them out the door.  Your a better man than me!

What I hate about HGTV shows is that they do (pick one): remodel, paint room and trim, landscape, etc in 30 min. That leads my wife to think you (meaning me) can easily do that project in short order. The other is that many times when they show owners or hosts painting they don't do the details properly, i.e.painting around switch plate, door handles, thermostats vs undoing them and then reinstalling after the paint dries.
