Got Problems?

That's nuts.... hopefully the local authorities crack down on that before someone is hurt.
On a somewhat related note, I was in San Antonio last week and they have those Uber-like scooters that you can leave anywhere and apparently you don't need to know how to operate them. Imbeciles riding at top speed (15?) on the sidewalk almost ran me over.

At least 5 deaths every winter.

Someone already hit a pedestrian this year and killed them.

It’s getting real bad. The town goes from a nice quaint little place to snowmobile hell.

My tolerance for snowmobiles has dwindled significantly since living here.

The come here, destroy the towns, are generally under the influence , flying around on a 500 pound missile... almost got smoked by one today.

Annoyingly loud, disrespectful...

There’s other people trying to enjoy the outdoors without a fart can attached to an engine. Stay on your designated trails!!!

Yes, not all are bad, and I used to enjoy them myself. But the uneducated people drive me nuts... no need to be going 60mph in town.

In the summertime we have the lake version of those called Jet Skis or PWC's. According to the law you have to be at least 16 and passed a written boating test. I often see preteens driving these things at 50-60 mph. Shame on the grandparents and parents that allow this.

I’m on-call this weekend and this morning while checking on our pump stations, work in water distribution, one of them is losing 100,000 gallons. You would figure it would be easy to find, wrong. Been looking all morning for about 6 hours and finally give up. I guess I’ll start fresh in the morning. #hateworkingweekends

I hate being a mechanic.

I maintain our vehicles meticulously, since our lovely temps last week, my car has taken a turn for the worse, I believe I have a stuck lifter.

Wife’s car... starter went today. $1500 service for a Toyota.

Who ever I told to get a Toyota... belay that.

1500 for a starter?!?!

Can't you do the starter yourself? Would you take it to an independent shop instead of a stealership?

100% could if it is a certain engine year. I haven’t looked yet because of the temps.

Some of the Toyota’s have the starter under the intake manifold. I don’t have the time to take the top of the engine apart.

The other model it is blocked by the exhaust manifold, another hurdle.

Not as easy as a Chevy.

I’ll be out messing with it today to locate the starter and update as I begin this project.

someone ran into the front of my car while it was parked in an outdoor car park.🙄

I've now had 7hrs of tel calls between insurers, underwriters, car hire people, body shop repairer, the other parties insurer, plus having to take pictures of the damage, pictures of every angle of my car, pictures of the dashboard and mileage, vin numbers, pictures of the back and sides of my car, upload it all to their website, fend of their service provider etc all for something not my fault 😡

Now I'll be without my car for about 2 weeks and have to use the one the rental provider will give me, which won't be anywhere near the same as mine. 😢

On the bright side at least the other party waited for me to return to my car and admitted liability. I had similar 10 yrs ago and they fled the scene leaving me to foot the huge bodywork bill.

Happy Monday 😏

At least they are taking responsibility.  I had someone hit my parked car so badly a couple of years ago, it was a total loss.  Their insurance company then refused responsibility because it happened on private property (grocery store parking lot).  My insurance company chose not to fight and paid for the damage to my own vehicle.  The following year, my insurance policy wen't up several hundred dollars per year as a result!

Edit to add: Sorry this happened.  It is a pain in the ass and can be ridiculously inconvenient.

Been a rough week for my wife and I. Baby #3 was due in September and we found out on Tuesday my wife had a miscarriage. She goes in Monday for surgery where they’ll also remove a cyst they found. Talk about a rollercoaster of emotions this week.

Very sorry to hear that.  I could have written that post almost word for word 26 years ago (it wasn't a cyst her surgery was for.)  I know there isn't a day that goes by where she doesn't think about that baby, who was our 3rd as well.  I hope you two can find comfort and peace.

I always try to remember that I'm not good enough to get mad!

USPS stated my package from the MGS Trickshot challenge was delivered to a parcel locker Thursday and the key was in my PO box. I was excited to go pick these up, but unfortunately, there wasn't a key in the locker when I got there. They're always closed by the time I get home from work, so I'm not sure what's going on with that package. They either forgot to put the key in my box, or put the key in someone else's box and they were able to get to the package. Hopefully they have it there tomorrow morning when I go there. They had one job, just PUT. THE. KEY. IN. THE. BOX.

Update to the above post: They got misplaced at the post office but were able to find them this morning. Had me worried for a second!

Btw... These are high quality, if anyone is thinking about picking some up. Going to have to be extra cautious with the white, but can't wait to show 'em off!

This year started out well - great momentum with my exercise program, weight loss  and swing practice. Then the visit to the doctor to this week take care of an issue - 8 stitches later and now I'm out of commission for at least 2 weeks.  Wish i could have gotten the appointment in December.  In 2 weeks I'll be feeling like I'm starting all over again. 😫

What a night! Got a call from my wife when I was unloading a truck at Lowes last night to say her car had just quit and wouldn't start, just a click. So, being a good husband, I called the manager and said I had to bail because my wife was stranded, made my apologies to my team and bailed.

Got to where she was and jumped the car, all good. Followed her home and when she was backing into the driveway noticed her headlights getting dimmer and the car quit again...oh well, at least we're home. I took the battery out of the car and went to Walmart to have it tested and possibly replaced because I bought it in November last year. Well, it was so low it wouldn't test. They said they'd put it on the charger over night and test it in the morning at 7. Great! Get into my truck, turned the key and nothing. Oh come on! I replaced the battery in mine last week.

The battery has good power so I think it's either the starter solenoid, which you can't replace separate from the starter, or the ignition switch.

Fortunately my neighbour is one of the best and he came and got me, brought me home, helped my get Chanin's car into the garage and drive me to my in-laws to get my MIL's car.

Went down to Walmart this morning and the battery has a bad cell, so they replaced it for free. Chucked it in the car, cranked straight away, tested the alternator and it's good, so I got out of that one cheap. Now my tame mechanic is going to come to look at the truck but I'm thinking I'm up for a new starter.

Yesterday some contractors running fiber lines through our neighborhood hit the water main. Our neighborhood is under a boil alert, but the water department did a terrible job of notifying the neighborhood, so my daughter drank a bunch of the water yesterday and is now sick as a dog - might just be coincidence, but who knows.
