My family had convinced me that this would be the year to give the US Open qualifying another go. As much as I tried to get ready to play I decided last night that I am just not there or in any form to even tee it up. Some of the lack of preparation is work related and some is just me not doing what I should have done coupled with a lot of self doubt. I have played exactly one round at my club and three rounds at Pinehurst this year and don't see myself playing enough in the next few weeks that would change my mind. Frustrated that I feel like I let my kids down a bit as they just wanted to see me play some sport at a high level, all they have ever seen is some old video and press clippings from when I was an athlete at one point in my life. you can clearly play. Would it not be worth even trying and if you fail you fail, or will you regret not trying? What's the worst that can happen? You would have ALL us spies (as well as your kids) rooting for you no matter how you play. I just don’t even think where my game is right now I could break 80 under those conditions. I am going to sleep in it tonight and make a final decision tomorrow. Worst case is I play the mid am this summer when I am actually playing a little bit. Heck I am even going to go and practice indoors tonight. robertson153
Been all afternoon taking the front end completely off my Club Car. It started being hard to control going downhill the last couple of rounds. Found out today all the plastic bushings are completely gone. Good news a rebuild kit is only $30 on eBay, bad news is it won’t be here until Friday. I have league Thursday evening and now I’m going to have to rent a cart. It’s always something!! toehold57
Father-in-law passed away Easter morning. 90yrs old, always in pretty good health but passed suddenly. Pulling all the pictures together for his service, I was struck by the life he had. A handicapped guy from far southwestern Oklahoma, he traveled the world. Always checking on far flung relatives across the country and friends, he was well loved by many. He and I were not exactly buddies but he introduced me to this game we all love. And I’m grateful for that, and for his daughter So go out and live your life despite any handicap you *might* think you have. Love often and love well. PMookie
Went from Kidney stones to a Crohn’s flare-up. Have to have another scope again this Friday. tony@CIC
We had a squall blow through here a couple of days ago - 60+ mph winds. Only lasted about 10-15 minutes but enough to blow some very large limbs off of a big maple in our yard. Spent the past day with a chainsaw cutting up the debris - then went for our Friday night 9 hole couples mixer last night - By the 7th hole my back hurt so bad I could only putt and could hardly get in and out of the cart .
