So no relationship between golf carts and STD's?? 🤣

Well, you never know. I got some bad gas once and had to drain the tank and refill, does that count?

sweeeeeet... going back to normal work schedule on Wednesday. Just perfect, as our friendly virus is still spreading at a good clip here.
Got the same thing going on here and I go back tomorrow. Stay safe.

I just saw these posts. I’ve been in the business of designing rip-rap erosion control projects for nearly 26 years. I’m in Virginia but I would be willing to bet the regulations aren’t all that different to Maryland.

I have a feeling what was installed doesn’t match up with what was designed and approved. For starters, it doesn’t make logical sense to rip-rap part of the bank and not all of the bank. Second, it’s highly unlikely any regulatory agency would approve rip-raping part of the bank and not all of the bank. Third, no professional engineer I’ve ever worked with would risk suspension of licensing by designing something that is absolutely going to increase erosion down-stream.

I would strongly suggest reaching out to the local Erosion and Sediment Control person and ask for a copy of the design plans for the erosion control project for your property. Since adjoining properties are always affected by E&S, those design plans are a matter of public record through Freedom of Information. You may have to pay $20 for the plans but if those plans show the project was not constructed the way it was designed, you have grounds for the construction company and locality to mitigate the damages to your property.

I have a copy of the permit and the plans.

My house was supposed to get the rocks, previous owners were going in with the community. Never told me about it.

I was told late, way after it was approved and signed by the state. I didn’t think I’d need it because I was actually seeing an increase in my beach....

The plans had it ending 20 feet into my property to cause less damages to the adjacent property... they didn’t adjust the plans, and the construction company never got back with me.

Rip-rap generally doesn’t just end abruptly like it does in that picture. The area just outside the rip-rap would be extremely vulnerable. Anyone associated with design and construction should have known better than to leave it like that. It should taper off and into a solid, stable surface that isn’t susceptible to erosion.

A lot of people don’t like rip-rap but it really is the only way to eliminate terrible erosion. Sprays are available at any hardware store or farm supply to prevent overgrowth and/or nuisance animals from moving in and calling it home.

I hate it. Haha.

But my question is... the place was built in 1955. 65 years have gone by, the original well rings they used back in 1973 are still there... and working.

Put these damn rocks in and I can see the erosion down the shore line...

Why?

There’s one guy that pushed for it, but he already had a sea wall.

No use of my beach would suck, most everyone else comes a few weeks a Year maybe. So they don’t care.

We bought the place for the beach. Take that away and we have no reason to own the place.

You see erosion down the shore line because the rip-rap was never tied directly to a solid, stable section of ground. Erosion would be happening everywhere without the rip-rap. The rip-rap brings more attention to the other areas. And those other areas are taking the full force of the erosion. Less area to spread the disturbance equals more concentrated disturbances. You can see examples on Google Maps of the 18th at Pebble Beach. Pebble can afford to camouflage the rip-rap. The rip-rapped properties just north of the 18th green are clearly visible.

I’m not going to get into a political debate with anyone. This is my profession. Erosion is happening more frequently and with more destruction in recent years due in part to global warming. More severe storms happening far more frequently taking a drastic toll.

Hate it, as in how it looks.

Definitely getting some attention. I tried to tell my neighbor that the contractors didn’t finish the job,
She ignored me.

I obviously don’t want to be swimming in my living room in a few years.

Just wish I was informed beforehand.

Sent you a DM to get your opinion on the whole deal, and see what you think about my plan.

My dad is in the health care field... he services MRI and CT machines.

Last night he was in a town that had severe riots, he was locked unnecessarily at a place that had a bunch of COVID cases.

Hopefully he doesn’t catch the crap.

Not very pleased right now.

Hope Pop gets out of there safe.

Thought I'd pop in and give an update. Looks like it turned out to be a mild stroke I believe from talking to the doctors. Finally had the body CAT scan. It was negative. done second brain MRI & it shows it gone. So now also taking something for cholesterol, they're trying to keep me from anymore issues. So alive & kicking. Just still have coordination issues. But hey I'm good

Hey all, been struggling lately with social media and have really debated getting rid of it. I have deleted some of the apps but maintained profile because I just do not want to log into them right now and today was that tipping point for me. Not going to get political I just wanted to say:
Thank you to MGS and all those folks on here. This site over the past few months has been a great escape to come and just talk about golf and has distracted me from these other accounts. Shout out to B.Bostonfor getting me involved, love coming on here!

I’ve done the same with the social outlets.

It’s a cesspool on the place with the little blue logo and white bird, the camera app is also terrible at times.

This place at its worst, is a tightly mown fairway.

Glad to have you around!

Well said! It's been difficult to want to check social media lately with all the negativity and more misinformation than I can shake a stick at. My FB page is mostly for keeping up with friends and family, people I care about that live in other areas. Twitter is exclusively for golf, I follow members here and other golf related channels and I do the same with Insta.

This community is about positivity and a love for the game we all share. Honestly, this is the place where I'm most active.

I'm glad we can be a fun place for you to hang out and talk. You've been a great addition here and I'm glad @B.Boston talked you into joining. He's a pretty cool guy, just don't tell him I said that.🤫
