GolfSpy BOS
1 hour ago, GolfSpy Stroker said: severe thunderstorm right over our house last night. dumped 6 inches of rain in about 30 minutes and basement flooded. seems like it happened to a large majority of our neighbors too. moved the clubs to "higher ground" first and then dealt with everything else. Unfortunately it looks like the freezer plug was in standing water and shorted out and now we have to find a way to deal with a couple hundred dollars worth of food that's going to go bad. Not cool. 28 minutes ago, Lacassem said: Corner of my basement flooded too. Thank goodness it was not the finished part I would have lost my mind. Was able to control it. The yard was a lake for a bit. It was almost like the dirt wasn't seeping and the water just stayed on top of my yard for about 10 minutes and then it all just seeped in, was coming right through the CMU's. Parents down the street had golf ball sized hail...I have not braved making sure my truck isnt dented yet Shockingly my basement DID NOT get any water or even dampening in the usual spots. I was actually really surprised because the kiddie pool has about 6+ inches in it and it was empty before. Not sure if we got any of the hail because we weren't home and the other car survived just fine. But I'm only a stones throw from Mark's parents so I'm guessing we had something. I'd offer you room in our freezer @GolfSpy Stroker but the daycare closures have meant our freezer needed to be stocked because for some reason my kids NEVER stop eating. So finishing up school I have 1 last class not part of my major but taking it just to add some stuff while using the GI BILL. 3 semesters in a row that the school HAS NOT registered me with the VA. No benefits. Not a big deal once and a while but multiple semesters just pisses me off. Calling the VA is not the easiest process and is always dragged out because they are not very helpful. Just a real pain in the ass to deal with something that should be a pretty seamless process. Popular Post Nic
Looks as if the transformer across the street blew and sent a charge into the house. Started in the basement, and took off from there. Lost most belongings from smoke, chemical and water damage. Lost my motorcycle and a '69 Camaro, but hey, my clubs were in the trunk of my car, so there's that. We had intended on remodeling, since my daughter is in college, but not everything at once! ... at least my daughter, who was home alone when the boom hit, is safe and sound.
