The cardiac cath showed that there was a 99% blockage of the main artery going to her heart.   Doctor put in a stint; I got the impression that he would have preferred to do bypass, but her age was a big concern.   Heart was damaged and is working at 35% efficiency; hoping the various meds will improve that.    She is definitely doing a better,  she called and asked me the channel for the Yankees broadcast......I know,  can't believe she likes the Yankees.

A 35% ejection fraction isn't great that's for sure. Main artery to the heart or a main artery on the heart?? Sorry I'm very good with cardiology and am just prying. The cath will make her feel better and are easy to recover from they are nothing major just a small hole they enter so she will have some limitations.

I know there's bigger problems than this...but. This happened on #2 off the tee today.

I am familiar with caths so I knew what they entailed.  Sorry, all I can remember is main artery and that others were under 50% blockage so they didn't do anything to those.  Subtlety of wording that most of us don't pick up.    I talked to her this afternoon and I can definitely tell she is doing better.  Couple of more days in the hospital to get meds figured out.

I know;  I was being pretty cryptic in my post and know things are tough all around   I previously posted about my wife and her broken ankle;  additionally my father-in-law passed away on July 25,  and I spent yesterday in the parking lot of the hospital (since I couldn't go in) waiting to hear info on my mother who had a heart attack.   She is in ICU and will be having tests today to see what is going on.  And of course during this, I need to help take my daughter back to school tomorrow.

Condolences on your father in law passing away.  Hope your mom recovers quickly... thought and prayers for you and your family!

No idea. My wife left the house for 10 mins with my son to drop him off at band camp, when she came home the outside pane was shattered. I’m going to call our insurance company tomorrow on the offhand chance that our homeowners policy may help out. A friend who’s an architect gave us the names of a few people to call so we’ll see what can be done. I don’t even want to think of the cost of we have to replace the entire slider.

That's the first thing I did. Didn't find anything near the door or around it. Granted, with the concrete patio right there it could have hit and then bounced off into the grass after hitting the door. The neighborhood behind us was built on an old par 3 course and there's a LOT of tree and brush cover, plus a decent amount of distance between us and them. Would've been one heck of a lucky errant shot if it made it all the way to us if it was a BB or pellet. But not discounting that either.

Calling around now to see if I can find someone who can replace the outer pane at a lower cost than the deductible. Both places that were recommended won't be able to get out here until early next week to measure and quote, so we shall see!

If it's a relatively new, name brand slider maybe you can contact one of the local distributors and get a new door vs. replacing the entire unit. We had a Pella (large) window go bad. The distributor was able to order and replace it.

Also in the meantime Id recommend getting a sheet of plywood and cut to fit on the door so the glass doesn't come crashing down

Noticed a musty smell coming from behind one of the electrical outlets in the kitchen. Really hoping its not mold.

And also found a way to slightly electrocute myself as well, should have taken more precaution.

So this is going to sound really dumb, but the root cause of the smell was not mold or dampness at all. Somehow, the smell coming from our undercared for fish tank had a stronger smell coming from an outlet that was a few feet to the left of the tank than from the fish tank itself. Definitely was from the fish tank though.

That's got to be a relief. Mold remediation is not cheap especially if you have an old house (think asbestos).

Oh and they do make circuit breakers so that they can switch off circuits

Yep, I initially had turned off the circuit breakers and checked that they were in fact off. But after turning them back on, I decided I would quickly check one more thing with the outlet, and of course that is when I shocked myself. I learned always to be safe no matter what.

While I was having my mini home fiasco this morning, I learned that one of the guys from the homebuilding company that I got to know well and helped me out with many things, passed away from Covid back in March, one of the first known victims of Covid here in the US. Until now, no one that I had known personally was a victim of Covid.

You're not going to believe this, but we had to replace the dryer yesterday. Chanin went to dry some stuff on Thursday and heard a pop. Opened the dryer door and smelled smoke. I looked at it Thursday night and the motor ran but the drum didn't move. So, I went to Lowe's yesterday after we got back from our weekend in Pittsburgh and got a Maytag, wired it up and it's all good.

$3200 in appliances in about 10 days.

YIKES!  Sorry to hear that.  It's been a long time since I bought a washer/dryer.  I didn't realize they were that expensive.  Well, happy wife... happy life.

I do remember that now that you mentioned it.  LOL.  Another year and I will be like "10 second Tom".  🤣
