Got Problems?

Rhode Island is on the NY quarantine states list. If I fly there from NV I would have to quarantine for 14 days. This is just absolutely insane.

CT is not on the NY last at but Nevada is in the CT list so I would have to quarantine after I landed. I spent two hours last night trying to figure this out for a 3 day trip to Reno. Not like it is important for my career or anything but that is not a concern of Dictator Cuomo. Slowly plotting my move out of NY.

can you bypass the quarantine by getting a covid test?

Not an option in NY as far as I can tell. Not sure about the surrounding states.

I'm still somewhat new around here, but seems like an icebreaker...

I woke up a couple of days ago with a sore throat, and at work, started having heart problems. Went to the ER. I got a positive COVID test, my wife and 3 year old daughter also tested positive. We have a 3 month old son that's too young to test, but seems inevitable. Its our daughter's 3rd birthday Saturday, and we got her some rollerskates and a little putter since she always wants to play with my "golf ball sticks" I'm feeling OK and trying to stay positive. Any good thoughts you can send are appreciated. I've had a great time on this forum taking my mind off it, and I'm trying to stay focused on passing the PAT next summer. A real high point was @fixyurdivot@fixyurdivot sending me a driver to replace my ancient 975J. Thanks to all you guys for your support, and keep the content coming, it's a fantastic distraction.

Today isn't a good day. A friend from work just passed losing his battle with cancer and found out my family member who has cancer had some spread of it and had surgery to remove some as much of the one tumor as possible.

Really sorry to hear this. Not much else except hope for the best and maybe the doctor/medication can help especially the experimental drugs.

Very sad to hear.  It's tough to lose someone close to the big C.  I hope your family member can get treatment, and prayers going out your way..

Got a call from Connors principal late yesterday arvo. One of his teachers popped positive and he has to quarantine for the next 14 days. He wasn't happy about it but understood that he's not the only one and a lot of the kids will be doing the same.

I got a hold of my director and our HR does not have any guidance on what to do (because they're government workers and useless) but he has a call in to them and we'll have to see what they say.

Crazy that they don't have some policy in place that they know about.  It's not like this only started last week or last month, they have had 6 months to figure things out.

It's ridiculous. My wife also works for local government (juvenile court, they have their own HR) and they said as long as he's not showing any symptoms she's good to go in. My director said he's put a request in to HR but we haven't heard anything, so I'll be going in and see what happens.

Same exact thing just happened to my son. A teacher with access to multiple classrooms (assuming a gym/music/art teacher). tested positive. I called my work and notified them that technically he was in contact and then I was...no guidance.

Luckily nothing came from it but it really is just a "hands up shoulder shrug" when something happens.

It started w Friday Group w 24+/- guys. I named the group after some interesting eating habits (over) at Breakfast Buffets following golf. I started calling the Monday group Bacon Boyz as well since both have almost same guys.
Now we get 10-14 guys per Monday/Friday. No application necessary, just a poor to good golf game and a sense of humor.

I'm now home for 14 days with Connor, because that's the County way apparently. A contact of a contact still has to quarantine. Fortunately I'm being paid out of a different fund so I don't have to use any sick or vacation time. I didn't find out about having to quarantine until after I got to the zoo, so I came home and will be here until the 16th.

Pretty sure my golf season is over.  The past 2 days I’ve had some pretty bad shoulder pains.  Left shoulder is very stiff, making an appointment to get checked out soon.
