Sorry to hear that. My company is in the middle of some major personnel movements. My department went from 8 people at the beginning of June to 5 people by July 1st. This happened with my boss taking over another division, taking a fellow engineer with her, and the other engineer becoming my new boss without me hearing a word until it was official. Then we lost a few people in the main office and the only person other than me that uses our California office took an open position, so I'll be all by myself in the office soon. Feels like I'm on an island where I'm the last to find out about all of these changes.

I know from your other threads/posts you're on a "swing speed/distance" mission... possible connection?  To be honest, this is what spooks me most about the SuperSpeed training.  I've finally got my left elbow and shoulders feeling good (new composite iron shafts are golden in helping this btw) and fear the swing for the fences training will reverse that.

Yeah.  I’m ditching the speed work.  Last time I started it I couldn’t keep the ball on the course.  Same this time.  I have plenty of distance.  Chasing more is not feasible for me.

Refining what I have makes more sense.  On a good day most of my drives are out there 280+, which is plenty; with a couple at or over the 300 mark.  Bad days I’m 260… changing golf balls really had an ill effect on this too.  I can’t wait to get the •V1 out on the course, I definitely need a low spinning ball so stay a little straighter off the tee on my bad shots.

Going full tilt with the super speed sticks doesn’t work for my aging self…

Rory and a handful of others have come to the same conclusion.  I must admit that the appeal of adding carry distance is there and, were it not for a chronic troublesome shoulder, I would likely have acquired the SS training system.

... I have the SuperSpeed system and I am hoping to gain just a few more mph but not any substantial distance. I am more interested in maintaining my current swing speed as I approach 70.

My understanding is that, once you go through the stages and make gains, you then move into a sustain phase.  My concern is the swing for the fence part in route to the speed gains.  The left shoulder needs surgery to repair (though that is not a sure bet) and the risk of aggravating it concerns me.  I routinely remind myself not to try and match long hitters... though I still sub-consciously do at times.

Yeah, I mean if I could have a coach work me through it…. Maybe, but I don’t have time to do that. 
 

Im in decent shape.  I don’t do any heavy lifting but I do body weight stuff nearly every day.  I would want to see that 130mph club head speed if I was going to do it, but if that puts me 350 deep into the swamp it is useless.

For sure. Uncontrolled distance = No Bueno.  Add in risk of wear n' tear attaining the speed, and its a double whammy.  The pros have a team of folks to see them through these physical swing and body build regiments.  This and the fact they work at it near full time, I believe, significantly lowers the risk of injury.

Not mine to sell.  It is part of our gym at work. But I’m the only one that uses it.

You need to get the Long Drive Super Speed set.  I want to see 150.

i don’t think it’s impossible. i need to get back in shape though. 

i haven’t touched a weight in well over a year, and i’ve definitely lost a little speed because of it. 

back to training, using super speed, and make the driver 48” and i think i can get close.

My style right there.  I was awarded this ability to hit it 6 fairways over growing up and still have a look at the green…. There was no need for accuracy, if I only knew…
