It's interesting how people react to the different shots.   I've had through the booster of Pfizer with no reactions.  I got the first of the shingles shot and it kicked my butt for a couple of days.

Our 1st shot late January 2021 no big deal.  2nd shot in February was different, slept for 24 hours, pretty sore but fine after that.  Booster 3rd shot similar to 2nd, all Moderna.

... Science said one Moderna shot produced around an 86% effectiveness and a 2nd raised that number to 93% so I only got 1 shot. I had the shot at 2pm and played golf at 3pm and never had any side effects until the next day when my arm was pretty sore but that went away after 2 days. I would like to get a booster but don't want a 2nd shot and not sure whether or not I can get a booster without a 2nd shot.

By all accounts the successive shots are all the same just varied dosage.  The idea being to keep one pumped up on the kryptonite in effort to keep the efficacy up.  It is my opinion the science on how exactly that works person to person is anything but settled.  Ultimately, these seem to be tracking towards traditional flu vaccine efficacy numbers; which aren't that stellar on a cumulative perspective.  Hopefully any further mutations of this devil track to the less serious side of the ills scale.

Spring time… beautiful flowers, tree buds, grass starts growing… and my allergies are not liking it.

Driving to pick my daughter up from work tonight, I thought there was some sort of toxic gas cloud, but no it was pollen fog.  I’ve never seen anything like it, the air was yellow and thick, weirdest danged thing.

Been having an issue as of late with my eyes.  Happened once in December and now it's back again.

Generally I have excellent vision.  somewhere around 20/15 in my left eye and around 20/20 in my right (dominant) eye.  Back in December, and now again on Monday I noticed big blooms of light while driving at night around headlights and street lights and such.  Almost as if you were looking through a dirty windshield.  Closed my right eye, no blooms.

When I went to the eye doctor back in Dec my right eye was down to about 20/40 vision, so a massive difference between the two.  He believes I had uveitis which is a kind of inflammation and swelling of the eye.  Cleared up with about 2 weeks of drops.  Now it's back.  Starting another round of drops and hoping it clears up quicker this time.

Also super frustrating that it's basically impossible to tell the cause.

My daughter tested positive Sunday.
my wife tested positive last night.

I’ve been off work all week to help around the house and while I had tee times to play this week, it’s insignificant in the bigger picture.

Good news is, they’re both OK. Just knocked them on their butts.

Not really.  I noticed it some in Virginia while I was there . But this was different, something out of a Stephen King Novel… I was waiting for something to pop out of it in front of me and shoot me with some sort of green slime or something

Been up since 4:30, my wife woke me up thinking we might have to take our pug to the emergency vet because she was panting more than normal and was scratching herself constantly. She does have allergies that we take her in to get shots for and we also give her Benadryl.

She finally settled down around 5:30 and didn't seem to be in any pain, so my sister-in-law is going to take her to the vet tomorrow and see what's going on. She's been good throughout the rest of the day.

Hope everything goes well with your fur-baby.  Unfortunately my wife and I had to put two of ours to sleep in the last year.  Hardest thing we had to do.

My wife has been off work since the beginning of May with a still undetermined issue that is causing her pain and numbness from the left side of her shoulder through the left arm. They did a nerve conduction study and there was some thoughts around the c6-c7 area, but we haven't heard anything certain yet. She has her next appointment with her regular doctor on Wednesday, so I wouldn't be surprised if an MRI is in her near future. It's been a mess at home as a result.

She's doing good today, still a bit itchy but the heavy panting has stopped. I think that's what concerned us as pugs have a tendency to have breathing disorders. We couldn't get an appointment to the vet today, but one did let us know that if she does have allergy problems we can give her a little more Benadryl than we have been doing.

I hope they can figure out what's going on with your wife. I'm sorry to hear she's having to deal with this numbness.

House deal might not work. After the inspection I’m not thrilled about how much work it needs for the price.  Real estate market is insane…. I would expect that from something half of what I would be paying for it… ☹️

That stinks, what all does it need?

Well, we have "teed off on the 18th" of my Dad's life round.  This tough old WWII marine is 96 and last Friday I had to get Hospice involved as his pain level and other medical issues got to the point of needing the more powerful drugs to make him comfortable.

He and my Mom have lived with us since March of 2020 when the covid lockdown's started.  They were about ready to transition from living alone anyway and the daily life complications brought on by the lockdown worked in our favor to have them move in with minimal resistance.   His decline over the last couple months has been rapid as the heart failure condition brought on many other related issues.

We hope to provide a dignified and mostly painfree '18th' for him to play out the round.

The hospice decision is never easy but when it’s right you know it’s right. If you need anything let me know. He is a lucky man to make it through WWII and to make it to 96

He was extremely lucky regarding WWII - he fought on Okinawa and his unit lost over 50% of their men.  After growing up i realized how mentally strong he was to survive and live normally after going through that

Rabbits are dumb!!! Stupid rabbit had a litter of babies under my deck and my 3 hunting dogs found the nest and brought me them all some wounded some not. We will see how many survive but this is the second time this has happened! I guess being OOS due to back pain and my dogs not being outside much made them feel like it was safe.

I'm sorry that you are going through this. None of us get to pass by this. I did the same thing for my dad in 2002. Hospice is great... it sucks, but they are phenominal in how they handle things. My brother and I did it again this last year with our mom. Hospice is absolutley the best. You are in my prayers.
