Kenny B
I am going to the Masters for four days. I have tickets for the last three rounds and staying at a house in Augusta. Playing a club near Atlanta after I land and then three more rounds near Augusta that have been set up. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy If you have the opportunity, I hope you can play Palmetto GC in Aiken, SC. Very nice private club not far from Augusta that was built in 1892; gorgeous clubhouse. It was a favorite course of Ben Hogan. I worked with a member, and got to play it about 15 years ago. Lovely. wbealsd and cksurfdude 2 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
MDGolfHacker
Growing old.. Well my father that is. He went to turn a hallway light switch coming out of the bedroom on his right on the second floor of his home and bam... Down the steps he fell. He had to get staples on the two severe lacerations on his head, a third laceration was just butterflied and stitches on his inside pinky finger where a four laceration occurred. Fractured or broke the orbital bone to his septum (requiring a plate to be put in and had two sub-dermal hematomas (which were minor)). Luckily nothing else seems broken at the moment. Good thing though was that he was lucid and alert during the entire ordeal. Only spent one night in the ER observation room and is home now. Oh yeah, in the 30 years he's lived in the house, the light switch has ALWAYS been on the LEFT coming out of the master bedroom. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Jmikecpa
Three weeks into the renovation at my house and I am losing my mind. Can't use the kitchen, dining room or living room. One of our spare bedrooms is loaded up with stuff from the other rooms. Five people living in pretty much two rooms for an extended period of time is a level of hell I could not imagine. At least I get a break the next four days with a trip away. Have a feeling my wife is going to make me pay for it. Both my parents had strokes 2 years ago, and had to sell their ti-level house on acreage in the country and move into town to an assisted living apartment. AH1980MN
MD I feel your pain. I watched my Nana go down that lonely road and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, now everytime my Ma has a moment I get a flutter in the heart. Probably it's just a senior moment, as my Pop did literally do the same thing. Ended up with some pins in his wrist, but at the age of 54. He hasn't had a lapse like that since, so I guess he just had a (not quite) senior moment... Anyways, keep your chin up. Jiro
Had only one morning meeting today at work so was going to take the afternoon off to go play a round. But we are going to be hit by a storm today with heavy rain and 30mph wind with 50mph gusts starting this morning until the sun goes down. My playing partners have all bailed. My sensibility is telling me I should too, no fun with that much wind. The big T-Storm went through at 5:30am this morning; wonderful light show with hail, but then it cleared up and is now sunny. Fireinthehole
Ordered titleist bag. Shipped Wednesday, suppose to arrive Friday, on Thursday I ask to be held at a FedEx location. Arrives Friday at 1 am in a town 1.5 hours away. No updates all day, so I call and they tell me either arrives Friday night or Saturday morning. Check this morning it was marked arrived at 8am today and is in the same town. Doesn't get delivered to the store that is 15 minutes away from the fedex hub. They stop running at 12pm. So won't be delivered until Tuesday. I had a not so calm conversation with fedex. The site did not warn me that it might take one business day to approve delivery destinations. So I play my tournament with a friends bag. Apparently FedEx home only delivers Tuesday-Saturday. This is why I absolutely hate fedex delivery they always do this to me. Shankster
Music on the course... I'm not one to complain much, my golf season is 4-5 months max, and I'm wearing a snowmobile suit for 2 of those. But I can't stand listening to the latest rap music coming from a giant a$$ speaker that the whole course can hear. First round of the year today, drunk a$$es stumbling all over the place, with some great music playing... I almost left the course. If you want to listen to music go to a damn concert. Music on the golf course is the sweet sound of a pured shot. If you're gonna bring tunes, keep it in the damn cart!
