My wife and I have established two agreements or processes. One, If we travel singularly for a vacation, we have agreed that the locale must have a beach for her and a golf course for me. When I am back from golf and she is not in the room, I find her on the beach. At most venues, I genuinely hope she is still on the beach. We then go have a great meal and take in whatever entertainment venues are available. Two, we keep a rather large calendar. If she wants me available for anything on any given day, she posts it to the calendar and I agree not to plan to play golf, if there is no posting, she knows that I am on the course. They absolutley steadfastly refused. I get why, they think I would take their verbal price and then go use it as leverage somewhere else. Well If you're giving me your absolute best price and make it easy for me to do businesswith you and you make a few $$$ in the process, them you are likely going to get my business. It absolutley drove me crazy, as I'm in sales in a very price competitive field as well, so it's not like I don't get it. But I don't get it. They still feed you total B.S. no matter what the form of communication. Bottom line is they want you in the showroom, at their desk, to just shut up and sign and take their lease deal. As is no questions. So I contacted a second dealer, who couldn't have been nicer or more polite or more helpful. Ended up getting a much nicer model at a really great price. And in less time than trying to work with the first dealer. Only went in to "consummate" the deal; sign and pick it up. Addendum: Oh - try True Car. I have USAA, which has a car buying service and which actually runs through True Car, and they definitely helped me get a good discount. Also, when I contacted them to give .. Apparently, the below zero temperatures and 2 feet of snow on the ground for 2 months didn't kill them off. Playing in the evening last night, I noticed a few mosquitos flying around. However, they are not my primary concern. We have nasty hornets that love the standing water and mud from overnight irrigation. Over the years we have had our run-ins!! So, just a quick lesson... I wonder when i will hear from them. Meanwhile ...do I use the damaged iron this weekend? They're forged, no?
