saying “well they had to get it some place” is a non starter.  you might as well point the finger at the first guy who flew to the US from wuhan if you’re gonna go that route  

keeping strict social distance in a lot of public settings is a complete fantasy.  as long as people have masks on, the transmission rate is cut by 95+%

bars and restaurants here have contributed 1.7% of new cases, and gyms less than 1%. 

a really big problem is people getting together with friends and family and letting their guard down with no masks in the living room hanging out.

Just my own personal opinion. Yes the cases jump when you have the gatherings. Its being transmitted and if school can be open then if people want to go visit family then that's their right. I know for me I would be damned if I missed another holiday with not seeing family so I saw my immediate family.

My wife and I decided to drive to the beach on Anna Marie and Long Boat key this past Sunday. We didn't get out of the car because the beach was packed and people walking around everywhere - no social distancing, no masks.

it’s absolutely your right, my comment wasn’t meant to condemn people for seeing their families - it was just to point out that any time you have a group of people indoors in close contact without masks, the risk of transmission jumps exponentially.  the virus doesn’t care that they’re your family and that you trust them. 

we saw family for the holidays also, but we kept masks on and asked everyone else to do the same.

i won’t get into an indoors/outdoors debate, that’s a different animal entirely. 

maybe i should clarify my comments. by all means - be smart and stay away from people as much as possible and wear a mask when that isn’t possible 

my point was simply that, people are moving their social lives indoors now that it’s colder weather and the holiday season. predominately, people think that they’re safe in their home and drop their guard. that rationale has led to a LOT of new covid cases, especially here in the northeast. 

the prevailing story in the ERs here is “well i haven’t been anywhere except my (insert family member)‘s house for dinner in the last few weeks”

Definitely agree. I knew what your comment was getting to I just think it’s important that people know in my eyes anyway people should be seeing family during these times, unless they’re super at risk

Not being able to visit family members in the hospital really sucks!!!!

Afraid I may have torn my achilles this morning playing pick up basketball.  Seeing the doc later today I hope (waiting for call back).  Likely will sideline me for just about everything for quite a while.  

Just got a skytrak and have all of the other projector components and new net on the way.  It is what it is, but silver lining is that I would prefer it happening in winter than summer.

Good question. I did a little questioning and the outbreak with the Bacon Boyz came from a simple Sunday evening Mexican Train game with 8 people. One of the players who’s in hospital right now spread it to the other 7 and BAM it went right thru the neighborhood then the Bacon Boyz is comprised of 3 neighborhoods and so it goes.

Had to take my dachshund to the emergency vet last night, she was going after her tail and yelping from discomfort. We got concerned she might have a blockage or some glands that needed drained. My wife was freaking out. Everything came out well, they did x-ray's no blockages and did a stool sample and didn't see anything there but sent us home with a dewormer. 

Got up this morning, looked out the window, and noticed my car trunk was open. Nothing was stolen, I think I accidentally hit the key fob (it happens way too much) and it had rained last night. Now my trunks wet and I can't leave it open to dry out because it's still raining.

I hope the pup is feeling better.  I haven't done the trunk thing but I have left the truck window open a time or two when it has rained.  Luckily its a work truck with manual window cranks so there are no electrical gremlins as a result.

That's a severely bad day. 

At least your clubs weren't in your trunk and stolen.

Last Friday 8 of us went to breakfast after Golf. 4 of the breakfast group has come down with COVID and 2 others who played golf and didn’t go to breakfast also were infected. That’s a lot of guys not to mention the wives.

They aren’t really pets, more like important family members.
