Thoughts and prayers man.  Nothing I can say will ease that pain. I hope you get to spend some time with her.

I just came back less than a week ago I spent 3 days there. I knew this was coming since she was diagnosed in October but man things have regressed quickly over the last few weeks.

I'm sorry to hear that. Work is not important right now. Go and be with your sister. I'm praying for you and your family.

Thanks

My sister’s getting worse daily. Last night I got told she had a very long seizure and now she is in the hospice unit at the hospital. I’m waiting to hear if I have to drop everything to go see her one last time or if she will make it to next weekend when I’m off.

That really sucks Tom, our thoughts go out to you and your family.

Well looks like open heart surgery scheduled for early next week. They're keeping my son in the hospital until then. Which is a good thing since he lives alone about an hour and a half from us.

Tony - Had quad bypass surgery in June. With the right surgeon all should go well. Prayers for your son. Not pleasant to go through but he will be better for it. Recovery is 3to 4 mos as they split the sternum and that has to heal before getting back  to normal activities. Just got permission to drive again this past week and can't play golf again till October. All the best to your family.

I am at a loss for words right now and just feel lost. I got a call today that the man who raised me, taught me how to be a good person husband and father passed away. I was fortunate to have my Grandpop in my life for 45 years and feel absolutely lost now that he is gone. He was the first person to put a baseball in my hands, taught me to play golf and bought me my first football. He was my rock and my go to phone call when I just needed someone. He is the reason I went to college and got my degree which was a first in my family. When I moved to NY 12 years ago he was my support telling me to take the leap.  He was the first person to tell me that if I wasn’t considering marrying my wife after we had been dating for a year that I was stupid. Hell, I think he liked her more than me. He was also the man that I named my only son after and it was the greatest joy in my life introducing him to his Great Grandson. My only comfort in all this was I got to see him on Sunday and give him a hug and tell him I love him. I didn’t know that was going to be the last time I would get that privilege.

Sorry to vent here but right now it is my only outlet other than my wife and kids who are as supportive as can be. I just needed to let it out other than to my family.

So sorry to hear. Your memories will keep him alive in your heart and mind.

Very sorry for your loss.  It will take time to recover from this; it still hurts and my dad passed away in May.  However, you will always have him in your heart and in your memories.  Prayers going out to you both.

Thanks for the kind words and all the support. My Grandpop was my hero and always there for me. I didn’t have a relationship with my father until I was an adult and my Grandpop was always there. He coached football and baseball at every level I played. I always hated the phrase of don’t meet your heroes. I was damn glad that mine raised me. It has been tough on my kids and all have had their moments. My son asked me to tuck him in last night so he could get a hug and cry. It has been a rough 24 hours but we are making it through.
