Secret Tour Pro

[The Dansome]

The secret Tour Pro is a highly followed Twitter account believed to be run by and undercover current Tour pro. The head of a golf company once told me who he thought it was, or actually insisted it is. I'm not sure who it is, but have a few theories. He could be a collective of top pros sharing the same account (which fits with what company head told me), a high level industry insider or simply a troll from Pennsylvania.

 

What are your thoughts, who is he?

I'm assuming multiple people as well just for the wide range of inside info he has.  I also do think Adam Scott is a part of it.  He's done a wonderful job at misdirection, so much so that if Adam came right out and said he was the pro nobody would believe him

I've tried narrowing it down from little clues. But the multiple makes sense. I had a leaning towards Charl Schwartzel. There is definitely a major champion involved but it's not a house hold name.

He's a collection of Aussie golfers for sure. He's not poulter, I have been following him for years and know how he rolls.

From what I have heard I tend to agree with you. I don't do it or Facebook either. I guess my "social media" outlets are here and WRX and I will add only certain places on WRX. Here I will comment any where any time.

He can't be fake..he posts inside the ropes photos and is privy to a lot of stuff before he media..ie: equipment changes by players

It's a bunch of different players. In one of the GD articles, it was definitely Horschel. Then in another, it was someone like Elkington.

I agree. r/golf looks like a bunch of choir boys next to Twitter and Instagram. The whole Paige Spiranac debacle males me sad to be a human being.

 

But STP is one of the few Twitter accounts I follow, along with MGSers and a handful of other random nonsense. His posts are interesting and usually in good taste. I don't want to know who it is. Just enjoy the tweets.

I'm not sure, but a collection of players makes sense.  Also enjoy the Undercover Pro or whatever he's called in Golf Digest.  About the only thing other than equipment pics that I enjoy from it.

The account has some interesting information from time to time.  There has been some speculation recently that the account is operated by a Netjets pilot who regularly flies players and has access to privileged information.  There has also been an attempt by one major golf journalist to identify STP.  I am not sure he ever did with any certainty.

 

Whoever operates the account is entertaining for the most part.

I love the STP account. To me its more likely that its a mix of players and their caddies. Prolly more so the caddies doing most of it.

Very few things I follow on Twitter, mostly golf-related, but for anyone interested I find @ESPNCaddie Michael Collins entertaining and humorous. Seems to be "in" with a lot of the Tour players - and the Ladies, too - and uses to haul a bag himself for awhile.

he is very good and funny.  I'd like to see him in the booth as the color guy for a tournament give some insight as to what players and caddies are discussing at certain times and provide some humor along the way.
