ole gray
My girl Roxie has been having some problems with her right hind leg. She has had a limp for some time now but still able and begging to do our morning and evening walks. This morning she was coming down the hall and let out a yep and barely could make it to the den. It looks like her right hip or knee might be the culprit. She can't hold herself up to go outside to do her business and we have a call in to the vet. She's a heavy dog at 90 + lbs so it's not easy to just tote her out to a potty spot so we are in a bit of a pickle. Our terrier (quite a bit smaller and lighter) had a similar issue. Her right rear leg kept going out on her. We have an excellent vet and quickly diagnosed the problem. A relatively quick surgery later ($1,700) she is as good as new. FYI that was about 5 years ago. tommc23
Not to be a dick or anything OG but the heavier the dog the more possible hip issues. She does look like she has Collie in her and something a little bit bigger. I hope it is just a minor sprain or something and nothing serious. My sisters boxer had issue similar to this just a few months ago and they had to put her on steroids which helped her out. Hopefully it is just something quick and easy like that. ole gray and cksurfdude

Yea she's a big girl and we have been working hard on her diet cutting out everything except two meals per day. The last time we weighed her she was at 92 lbs. Last time she had an injury like this was when she was jumping up on the couch and yepped out in pain. The vet checked her out and sent us home with some meds. She was almost instantly better. I noticed her having a bit of a limp on some of our walks lately and this morning she was running in to meet me for her walk when she let out a hollar. Our floors are slippery and sometimes she spins out so maybe she pulled a muscle. We have an appointment at 2:15 to see what's going on. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk Just returned home from the vet and the verdict at this point is a cruciate ligament rupture. As of now it's a slight tear and will be treated with pain medicine and anti inflammatory drug. She'll also be on a stricter diet for a period of time and if the lbs don't come off she will be tested for a possible thyroid issue. If this doesn't work then surgery will be the last option to repair the damage. cksurfdude, Rickp and MattF 3 Quote Ping G430 Max Driver 10.5 Degree Titleist TSR1 4, 5, & 6 Hybrids Titleist T350 Irons 7 - W48 Cleveland CBX ZipCore 52 56 & 60 Degree Wedges LAB Mezz Max Broomstick Putter / TPT Shaft (Platinum @ 45/78)

Less weight will make a big difference so you're smart in cutting back on the food. Our vet also recommended glucosamine, which we've been giving our girl since the surgery 5 years ago. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy Yea we have a consultation on February 1st and surgery on the 4th. Until then we have to roll her out of the house on our make shift hospital bed and then she will get off and potty on three legs. We got quite a bit of snow today and she would fall down in it and then try to pee. I feel so sorry for her however we are doing the best we can. It's tough when your dog can't run or even walk out to do her thing and ours is use to a morning and evening walk around the neighborhood. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy I know she will be ready to get out of the house and enjoy some different scenery. Today we made it to the woods behind our house for our first solo poop. She was hopping like a three legged rabbit however we made it to approved area. She will not go in her yard so we have to go outside the fence to a area further back. It's a struggle for her and for us to make it with snow on the ground was quite the feat.
