our husky never wanted to come inside when it was cold out. She also loved snow - would constantly roll in it.

When Fidel passed, I didn't have a dog for nearly a year.

After a couple of quarterly exams that didn't go so well, my doctor asked me if I was doing anything differently.

(Not my back doctor--my primary care.)

I said no. I'm not doing anything differently.

Something's got to be different, she insisted.

I told her that other than my dog having passed, everything was the same.

You've had a respectful mourning period, she said.

Go out and find another dog right now!

We brought home Molly when she was eight weeks old.

She gnawed on me constantly with her sharp little milk teeth (what they call a dog's baby teeth) and I was always bleeding.

She chewed through every spindle on our staircase.

She ripped the zippers off all my hoodies and destroyed several pairs of shoes.

She even found my upper denture and broke it into three pieces. (I found the pieces hidden in her bed.)

She was driving me completely insane before her adult teeth came in.

I thought that I was a nervous wreck.

I went to my doctor's appointment and all my metrics were back to normal.

How does that work?, I asked my doctor.

I don't know --it just does, she said.

True story

Yup - if it wasn't for our puppy I don't think I would have made it through the recession. She would crawl into my lap while the world was crashing around me.

I can't imagine having an ambitious dog actually willing to work for his/her supper.

That's impressive.

When my dog wants to eat fowl, she demands KFC.

They work not just for me but for the love of doing things. They love to please me and they love to do what is natural for them. She is a handful sometimes but she is amazing and those are for me to eat they might get some but not much.

Awesome dogs (among other awesome breeds).

Bichon-Poodle mix here. Many say they see Maltese in there, maybe so.

Keep the pooch pictures coming, guys.

I love them, bit I use a 1990s flip phone and can't send you mine.

My little girl is presently growling at the Geico gecko.

She hates that little guy.

Also, when somebody is on second base,

and the center field camera shot only gets the top of his batting helmet at the very bottom of the big screen,

she barks loudly at that--every time.  I don't get it.

This one is kind of sad, but could be worse. About 3 weeks ago now our little dog Coco developed some issues with his left eye, it got all crusty and he couldn’t open it, we clean the crusty’s away and when he opened his eye it was a grayish color. Vet trip, doc cleave some pain and antibiotics meds to do for 10 days, the first few days it seemed to help, but then it started turning red, and he seemed to be blind in that eye, we took him back to the vet on Monday for a follow up and basically they could see something in his eye but couldn’t tell what I might be, they could speculate, but because of the pain, and the blindness it was easier to just remove the eye. The vet who does the surgery called us and we talked, she thought it may be Lymphoma, and if it was then he would be at stage 5 since it was in his eye. Which means that if it is lymphoma he would have the cancer throughout his lymph nodes and in his chest area, she did xrays and a good examination of his lymph nodes, and she did not find or see anything, Coco is approx. 15 years old. We decided to go ahead and get the eye pain taken care of by having it removed. It will get rid of the pain it was causing, and since we didn’t find any other issues, he could live another 5-6 years, he has to wear cone of shame for 14 days. I joke around about it, but he’s a pretty good dog, and he will heal. things could have been much worse than they are so having him home and healing is good. He will also be able to have the coolest Halloween costume next year as we can get him an eye patch and he can be Coco the pirate dog. I Can post a picture of some of you want to see. Maybe in a week or 2 would be better, it’s pretty bruised, but he is doing fine for 1 day post surgery.

I have to have an endless supply of golf balls, if my Shepherd mix gets them she just takes them and plays with them. Eventually she chews the cover off then I take them and throw them away before she gets too far into them.
