sixcat
My area was hit with one of the heaviest storms I can remember yesterday afternoon. Between 1 pm and 6 pm, we received 3+ inches of rain with 35 mile per hour sustained winds and gusts over 50 miles per hour. Trees are down everywhere, power is still out in the surrounding counties although the power inside the city limits never went out. All county schools are closed today. We haven't had a thimble full of rain since the end of May or very beginning of June. The ground was very dry and baked out hard like concrete. Run-off has been damaging to say the least. Speculation is several tornadoes touched down but I have not seen confirmation. A handful of coworkers have been notified, they will be without power for at least another 48 hours.
