My wife and I were reading an article last night our local news station posted a link to on Twitter. Since 1888, we have only had one “measurable” (their word) snowfall this late in the year. March 28, 1987 we got 18”. I was 12 years old in 7th grade. We ended up missing so much school that year, we went on Saturday for a month or more.

 

It looks like we have gotten about 13” to 14” this time around. My kids are looking at Saturday school again. Simply can't plan for this much snow when it comes this infrequently.

I took my family to Kure Beach for a long Easter weekend. Nice, bright sunshine with 70 degree weather for a few days was quite nice. It was a bit windy though but I'm not complaining.

 

Came home yesterday to more roller coaster weather. Today was overcast, very windy with temperatures between the upper 40's to lower 50's. The overnight low is expected to be 29. It was 77 degrees when we got home yesterday afternoon.

 

These 50 degree temperature swings hurt.

My watch says 39, I went to the range at lunch hour, my car said 33, not counting warm him I hit 35 balls. Still tried to take my time and hit properly but by the time I was done I could not feel my hands anymore. I did not do my practice time on the chipping green at that point. This week has been a misery. We had 50 mph wind gusts yesterday so that was a write off and pouring rain and snow the day before.

Schizophrenic weather continues in Virginia. After back to back days topping out near 70 degrees, it's 37 at the moment with snow expected later today. Cold temperatures are supposed to last through Tuesday with more snow forecast for Monday.

It's been quite awhile since I played both Monument and Pinnacle courses.  I had been playing for maybe 4-5 years and was somewhere around a 20 handicap.  I hit the ball a lot further than I do now... and a lot more crooked.  I was just amazed at how beautiful the area was.  There were no houses on the course, but I suspect there are plenty now.  Like most desert courses I do remember that the green areas are good and the brown areas are bad.  lol.

We had a Hot Tub installed Mid-March.   The only way to flip off mother nature is to sit a tub of 103 degree water while the snow falls.  Maybe there will be golf in my life soon :>(

We had an EF1 tornado hit our town last Tuesday.  Lucky for us we were 3 miles outside the line of fire.  Some parts of the town are still without power.   We only lost power for 8 hours. Soooooooooooo, Where is Spring?, I agree, lets skip it and get to summer!

Looks like the snow may be over for 2018 in CNY, but the cold remains. Still maybe a week or 2 away from the season starting, and I've got to try and qualify for the local am in 6 weeks. Gonna be tight.
