No golf (or school or work) today in Seattle. We got 8" of snow last night, which is a lot for our area. All entitled Prius drivers are now regretting not getting AWD.

Yup, we are the same out my way. The thing people don't understand is that Chicago has 400' of elevation change over 40 miles but out here we have it in 3 blocks! Couple that with a lack of salt trucks and/or plows... After living in Baltimore for 3 years, I took the salt trucks for granted!

Worst of all I was golfing in 48 degree weather on Saturday!

Ice Storms... not good especially when the heavy stuff isn’t going to come down for a while. Supposed to drop down well below freezing, 2500+ without power with 8° temps over night... not good.

Thanks for sending the snow my way!!  Temp has dropped 6 degrees in the last two hours; at noon it's 25º, snowing sideways; wind @ 38 mph... feels like 6º.

Thank God for heated driving ranges. Utah just got slammed with heavy snow and it has been cold so skiing is great no golf

It was 2º last night.  Not going to be above freezing for at least 2 weeks.  Starting tomorrow afternoon, we are getting 5-11 inches of snow over the weekend.  Guess it won't be going away for awhile.

The days are getting longer... why isn't it getting warmer?

This always baffles me- we have our worst weather Jan thru March when we are heading closer to the sun and more daylight each day.

And except for a couple of weeks we've had warmer than usual temps. So far it's snowed only twice here. We're getting lots of rain - which my wife complains about. I'm happy because I don't have to shovel rain!

Well, after a very mild winter here in SW Idaho so far, February looks like we'll close out with lots of snow and cold starting later today. Predicting snow all the way through Monday here, and temps staying in the mid-to-low 30's for the foreseeable future. No more winter golf for us...

Snowed most of the day, but very small flakes.  High 25º which will be the low tonight.

I shoveled the driveway for my wife to driver her car into the garage.  Now it's snowing again, and she won't be home for another 30 minutes.  Grrr!  and Brrr!

My wife showed me a weather report on facebook for our area next week.  It says 12"-18" of snow likely with the possibility of up to 36"!  I laughed and told her no way we are going to get that much snow.  I sure hope I'm not wrong on that!

We have actually been really lucky when it comes to snow so far. Up until last week we didn't even have snow on the ground just had bitterly cold temps. So I am sure we are due but I don't think it is possible to even prepare for that much over the course of a couple days.

I may have to schedule a golf trip south before too long. Simulator golf is nice but I am getting the itch for the real thing!

6 inches of snow early this week... 3 inches yesterday... 12 inches today.  Oh, and 40 mph winds.  

We have 4 feet of snow in the backyard and portions of the front; other parts of the front yard, I can see grass.  4 inches of snow under our patio roof.  Supposed to snow through Monday evening.

High today was 21º ...  last year we got no snow.  No golf for the next few weeks.  We decided to take an all day gun safety class instead.  Fortunately, we only had to drive about 10 blocks, but there were cars stuck everywhere!!!

Currently 28° dropping into the low teens overnight. Got 3” of snow overnight with another 4-6” expected over the next 3 days. The weather nerds say it won’t get over freezing for the next 10 days. Grand total of 11” since the Super Bowl.

My street was a literal sheet of ice from the freezing rain we’re getting; I had to go 5 mph and if I even touched the brakes I was drifting over. Go Indiana weather!

I know that snow = 0% chance of golf, but I'm getting tired of all the rain in the Houston area. 

Galveston CC super (J. Smelser) posted on twitter that as of Feb 1, his course has received 82.75" of rain since Sept 1...and this wasn't even due to a hurricane, this was all a pissed off mother nature. I'm not sure what other area courses have received, but everyone is sloppy, soaked, etc. We're supposed to have a dry spell the next three days so hopefully I can call in sick on Friday and get in 18, but then all next week is 40-60% chance of rain every day. 

I never knew who would buy those hideous Nike Bandon golf shoes...turns out I just might need a pair!

Willamette Valley is a mix of snow. hail, wind. rain, 20s, 30s, and 40s. The weather people arent sure what to say or do.

My firm just put together a stormwater plan for a local small city to combat flooding.  It's just a study so, they won't get relief for a while. It's an effort to get some funding to help pay for some of what's necessary.  During the study, we found the area had received a 50-year storm and four 10-year storms within 6 weeks.  

We need some relief!  We've had the equivalent of 19 months rainfall since September.

I love my Nike Bandon Dunes!!  I don't wear them much since most years we don't get much snow or rain.  A few times each year I will wear them on the course if it's really wet and I'm walking.  I wore them yesterday to shovel snow all morning and they kept my feet dry and warm.

My wife and I stayed home all day Monday because it was still snowing and the streets hadn't been plowed yet.  We normally don't get much snow in the winter, so the city doesn't have a lot of plowing capability.  We just wanted to stay out of their way.  I shoveled the driveway... again.

Well, I woke up to another inch or two of fresh powder and shoveled the driveway... again, at 6am.  My wife had to open her business since she closed Monday because of the snow.  Many businesses were closed.  So, I decided to drive her in to work and shovel her walkway and customer parking places.  Took 90 minutes.  Worked up a sweat!!

My wife's business is at the Richland airport (small planes only) and the Port plows the parking lot and the airport grounds.  They had plowed on Monday, but there was that new snow last night; they will probably come around to scrape it off later today when they finish higher priority lots.

We don't normally use the back door to her building since it open onto the airport tarmac, but I decided to take a look...

Guess we won't be using the back door any time soon!!

Rain, rain/snow mix, more rain, more snow, lot more rain mixed with snow, then rain, then snow again, on and on and on...In fact the whole next week to at least next Wednesday looks absolutely "friggin' crappy"-which is a technical meteorological term btw...Looks like I picked the right month to send my irons back to PING..! Better start slapping around more putts in the living room too just so I don't go bat sh** crazy...
