Shapotomous
61* this morning and light rain watering the lawn work from last weekend. The weather station says .41" so far. The weather guessers say the rain moves out by this afternoon staying in the high 60's. It might be a good afternoon to start cutting into a couple downed trees I have been ignoring since July & August while it was in the 90's. tony@CIC
Well, no golf this weekend. Air quality is really bad. Not supposed to leave house. Here's a map of the Air Quality Index for the west coast. The dark area has AQI for particulate matter 200-2000 micrograms/ cubic meter. Ours is 450 now; was 800 last night. Portland is 1500. Our course won't open until the AQI is under 200 for an hour. That's absolutely horrible. I'll bet everyone can't wait for 2020 between covid, fires, etc. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy Kenny B, sirchunksalot and MattF 3 Quote Left Hand orientation SIM 2 D Max with Fujikura Air Speeder Shaft Cobra Radspeed 3W/RIptide Shaft 410 Hybrids 22*, 26* Cobra Speed Zone 6-GP/Recoil ESX 460 F3 Shafts SM7 54* Wedge Glide 3.0 60* Wedge O Works putter V3 NX9-HD - 4 Wheel EZGO TXT 48v cart - too many shoes to list and so many to buy And BAG Boy Golf Balls: Vice Pro Plus 2020 Official Tester Beginning Driver Speed - 78 2019 Official Tester 410 Driver 2018 Official Tester C300

ejgaudette
Fellow weather nerd here and my undergraduate degree is actually in meteorology, so happy to share some thoughts and weather in my neck of the woods. I live in northern NH so not the best for golf, we actually got some snow this morning which is a bit early but no too uncommon and it shouldn't last long. It has been about 32 this morning and should only get into the 40s today with some clouds. We don't have the fall colors of New England, the snow-capped peaks of the Colorado Rockies, or even the evergreen trees of western Washington. Our area looks more like Las Vegas than Seattle, but we are at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake, and Yakima rivers... wine country! ejgaudette
Yeah once over the Sierra Nevada mountains its a whole other climate for sure. The Bad Lands are parts are called that yes are good for growing wine, and just some amazing features. I remember watching a Nature episode as a kid about how the theory was (could have changed) was that this land was shaped by a large glacial lake letting go and letting out tons of water at once which carved the land into the severe features found around there.
