sixcat
We've had unseasonably cool, windy conditions for the past few weeks. Feels like late February weather. Highs in the lower 50's with frost every morning and a steady 20 MPH breeze. Last Thursday, I lasted 3 holes before quitting. Our par 4 #2 is 406 yards. A very gentle boomerang shape to the left with a stream 20 yards short of a severely elevated green. It was playing directly into a 35 MPH sustained wind. I hit driver, 6-iron, 8-iron into the left greenside bunker. I got that up and down for bogey. The very next hole plays back in the opposite direction parallel to #2. It's a 525 yard par 5. I hit driver, 7-iron that flew the green by 15 yards. Rattled around in the willow tree between the 3rd green and 4th tee. I played my third from the back of the 4th tee box straight back into that wind. I decided that was enough! MGoBlue100
Sorry, my brothers. It’s been beautiful here in the Upstate of SC. Literally played Mon/Tues & Yesterday. Yesterday got to play the private Legends Course at Chateau Elan. (Halfway between Greenville, SC & ATL) Really nice course (they often are when you have to go through three gates to arrive at the clubhouse...). Very windy, but sunny. Choked a bit on the back, but managed a 90 off my current 15.1 index. Move South dudes, you won’t regret it.
