Rained all day yesterday and into this morning. Wife and I were supposed to have a lesson (1 1/2 hrs away) so we decided to cancel especially since she wants the lesson off of grass. 

Our course was closed this morning because of the rain. I was just asked to sub for tonight's 9 hole men's league match play. Haven't heard if it's still on - if it is, it'll be cart path only. UGH!

So much for April showers, May flowers - yeah I know it's June but couldn't think of anything that rhymes with it.

Thank you.  Yes, we had it installed a year ago.  It's called Synlawn, they did the concrete pavers with the turf running through them as well.  And the section behind the pool is getting done in August.

We've had enough rain that the Guadalupe River that runs through Victoria has been flooded for over 2 weeks. And it's raining again. The golf course has not been dry in a while but we keep sloshing along and slipping in mud but delighted to get to play . . .

Rain always sprouts hordes of mosquitos to fight off. I've even donned a bandana across my face for a few select holes. We come home with blood stains on our clothes that I'm convinced is not all mine. I should have bought stock in mosquito spray!

And still we go back out to play some more. Played in a 3-day city championship tournament (3 different courses) over the weekend that was lift clean and place everywhere, even the fringe around the greens. The course grass and my garden are loving this extra moisture.

Sure love this game and itching to playing again.

Pun intended!!  I don't handle mosquitos very well.  When my scout troop went on our week long camp in the Cascade mountains, I came home with 60+ bites on my hands...  and a few other places!

We went from the 50's and the furnace to the 90's and the AC within a week and it looks like we are staying there for the next week or so.

After a week in the high 90's low 100's, the wind blew 25-40mph yesterday and we are now back in the 70's with lows in the 40's/50's for the next week.

A week of very hot 95* days and evening thunderstorms turned into a rainy day yesterday and damp cool morning.   We had 3" of rain this week and the grass will be a jungle by the time it dries out enough to cut.

To all on the West Coast going through the heat wave - stay hydrated and safe. I can't image 120* temps they're forecasting for the southwest - I know it's dry heat, but.......

Record breaking temps coming the next 10 days.

Only 97º today but the humidity is 15% and the wind is blowing 20+ mph; kind of like a blast furnace.  The temperature ramps up tomorrow for the foreseeable future... over 102º each day with forecasted highs of 112-115º over the weekend.  

I've lived here since 1970 and the highest temperature I've ever seen is 112º.

Wow, that makes me miss ABQ so much. I'm glad I got to spend a few years there.

It sure could be a bad year for forest and range fires.  We have never had 5 days in a row of 111 to 115º in June before.  New records will be set every day this next week.  We've had 112º before, but not until August!!

Looks like as the northwest heat wave breaks up, it heads over our way.  Low 90's in the forecast starting Tuesday for about 5 days.  Good weather for crop cutting however; get it down, get it flipped, get it rolled and stacked.

Small shower this morning but supposed to get humid and hotter over the next few days.  The last few days have been terrific....mid 80's, low humidity and a nice breeze.
