I thought the same thing. Several years ago my wife and I flew 3000 miles to FL; played with Rev and Foz in January; cold, wet, windy.  It was warmer at home.

Gotta love when that happens. I especially love it when that happens between NH and FL with only a 10 degree difference, just wild.

In NH its that time of year, now and spring, where we get the lovely mixed precipitation. I have always found it interesting how just subtle changes can take you from snow, to sleet, to freezing rain. In NH most precipitation, even a whole bunch in the summer, starts as ice crystals (its cold up there in the clouds) and then melts on the way down as it warms up. the depending on the depth of the cold air at the surface you can get sleet or freezing rain.  Just a little less cold air can take the ice pellets of sleet, which while slippery are nothing like the glazing and coating freezing rain that just wreaks havoc. Also quick shout out to my favorite winter precipitation, graupel. Its those tiny balls of snow that fall from time to time, like very small snow hail.

Right - but check back in about 30 days, it'll be sunny, grass will be green and we'll be in shorts and tees. And Maryland will be? 😉

Tony, this is our “winter stretch” and haven’t had a snow event or my all time favorite “wintry mix”!

No you won't.  Better make that 60 days.

In 2016 we spent 2 weeks (Feb 1-14) in St. Augustine , Orlando, and Tampa... Played golf in wet weather, cold and windy.

In 2007 I flew to Orlando on Feb 1.  All I can say is that I was dressed for cold weather because I flew from Orlando to Columbus OH on Feb 5 where there was snow and temp was -2º.

I'm sure glad FL makes up for it in the summer when it's hot, humid, and buggy!! (sarcasm font) I've spent many Julys in Orlando.

33 this morning but clear skies for now.  They say its going to get to 46 but they have been predicting on the high side the last couple days.  Lots of color in the sky as the sun came up this morning, the lousy cell camera didn't capture how red/orange it really was.

For the third consecutive year, my region has set a yearly precipitation record.  What's worse, the historic regional average is 43 inches.  We have had 65.97 inches or more each of the past three years.

We surpassed 70 inches on Monday of this week for 2020!

WOW!!  That's a lot!!

On the wet side of Washington State I think they get about 50 inches a year; higher is some spots, like over 100 inches on the Olympic Peninsula.

I live on the eastern side of the Cascade Mountains, so most of the rain stops as clouds pass over the Cascades.  Actually, most of our precipitation comes up from the the SW through Oregon.  It's almost a desert here; except for the farming the land looks like the area around Las Vegas.  As you can see below, we are in our "rainy period" of Nov-Jan.  From Jun-Sep any rain we get will be from a passing T-Storm

At this point, I am strongly considering a relocation.  I feel like I need a boat to get around town.

That prediction of 46* has no shot of happening.  The high today so far is 40 and there are snow flurries coming down now!  😒

36 and clear skies to start the day.  High today is supposed to hit 53 but I am skeptical based on the track record for the week.  if their pattern stays the same we'll be lucky to hit 45.

It stayed warmish last night, we are at 46 this morning with clear skies.  Some light fog in the woods but not nearly as heavy as the last couple mornings.  We are supposed to touch 60 this afternoon and get some rain overnight.  The educated guessers on the news last night were talking about some measurable snow on Wed.   😒

Snowing.  No golf.

OK, I lied.

The snow quit and it warmed up enough that the course was open.  The couple we were supposed to play with today called; it's his birthday, so we had to play!!

39* this morning and feels colder in the drizzling damp breeze.  Its  big difference from yesterdays high of 62.  The rain goes away by afternoon but some snow is supposed to come our way on Wed.
