Shaft Extractors/Pullers

Recommended Posts

Getting into the fantasy football finals in my work league guarantees some funds for one, which I've wanted for a few years.

What type/model does everyone have?  Any suggestions on getting one?  I want a nicer one because I'll be pulling adaptors off driver shafts and shafting irons in steel and graphite.

Any and all tips and insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have this one...

Works fantastic, I've had no issues with pulling anything so far.  You will either need a vise to clamp it in or bolt it to a work bench.

I've also seen quite a few guys either buy or make their own from a hydraulic lift.  I believe Bones has one of those.

This one looks pretty good.  I like the spring load that gets the head off instead of trying to figure out how much pressure to use.   Maybe I'll get a work bench to anchor it to.

I have the Maltby economy one. Have had it for 10 years or more. I do the adaptor pulls and all with it. It works good. It is allright for a home shop do do not reccomend for a high volume shop. I think they are around $80 now back when I got mine they were $35 or so
