Traveling to Bermuda - bring clubs, or rent?

I know disaster stories about travel with a golf bag has been covered elsewhere, but...

Am heading down to Bermuda in Feb with my honey for a week's vacay, and in addition to a lot of lounging and relaxing and happy hours and sitting on the beach and doing nuthin', we plan on playing a few rounds there. At this point I feel I could play 'ok' with other clubs but def am more comfortable with my own.

I know it's a hassle to drag a bag down there, and then into the hotel, and then out of the hotel and to one course one day, and then repeat on subsequent days and......

So basically the question is:

- Worth it?

- Don't bother?

Oh, PS:

Flying Delta, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

Check cost of Delta bringing clubs each way against the cost of renting at the various courses you will be playing.  Also do you already have a nice travel bag?  If not add that cost in too.

You could also consider something like Shipsticks and just have your clubs delivered to the hotel.  It may cost a tab more but you have the convenience of not having to lug your clubs around.

Generally speaking if you play one round just rent.  If you play 2-3+ times then I'd bring them.

Hey, thx for that! Yes, do have an as-yet-unused ClubGlider Meridian and one of those stiff arms (and lots of extra foam padding and bubble wrap!). Did check Delta - it says a golf club bag counts as a checked bag - 1st checked bag is $25 each way. Didn't know ShipSticks went outside U.S. - may check that, too. And we will prob end up playing 3 - 4 times (I think, as of now) - have not yet had a chance to check rental rates down there .. will do!

Which ever way you decide, I'd still get your clubs down there. I think it would be worth it in the end.

I don't think you want to go Shipsticks; way too expensive.  Renting at the course will likely be $100 for both of you, so $400 for 4 rounds.  I'm with Tazz; I'd want my own clubs.  I've flown Delta for over 2M miles but have only taken my clubs in the U.S/Hawaii.  Never a problem.  My bags travel free since I am lifetime Gold Medallion.
