Zeasy
Two weeks ago I was behind on work and looking for an excuse not to play, but my buddies drug me along. I'm playing ok, of not a little inconsistent as I come to the 17th tee box. For some reason, the tee was playing up and the pin was up. So the usual 190 yard hole was playing 133. 133 is not my stoniest distance. I struggle with distance consistency in my pw and 9 iron. I took a few extra practice swings and really put my back into the shot. I watch the ball lamd well above the hole and I was excited it didn't come up short. As I'm walking off the tee, my buddy said "wait." I turn to look at the green and watch as my ball starts trickling to the hole. The ball picks up speed and travels about 20 ft back down the slope, but as it approaches the hole, it veers off to the left. At the last second, though, the ball lipped into the hole for a hole in one. It was an incredible experience watching the ball come back and lip into the hole. I stood there in disbelief. It was awesome. Even more awesome, the $200 bar tab and $800 pro shop credit. Id wager that no single experience on the golf course can compete with watching your own hole in one.
D: 9* G400 Max w/Xcalibur TSL

F: 14* XR Pro 16 w/Hzrdous Red

I: SLS-01 4-SW w/Paderson SL

W: DGR 59 w/Dynamic Gold SL

P: Artisan 0318 or Edel TB

SuperDave
I've never had one either. Did hit one 15 feet left and about 6 feet past, big side spin right after hitting the green and rolled behind the hole then down. I was sure it was in from the tee box or at least within inches. Get to the green, 3 foot putt. Sent from my SM-G920V using MyGolfSpy mobile app

Jmikecpa
I have had one and with the mounds that were in front of the green I didn't see it go in. Fortunately there were about 50 people around the green that did so I was told how it went in. Mine qualified me later in the day for the most nervous shot I ever hit. Was entered into the $1M Challenge at Seaside during the RSM Classic. Essentially right after play ended on Saturday they too is hacks to the 18th fairway and got one swing from 175 to make an ace. About 3,000 in the tents around the green, a Ping iron I never hit in my hand and Matt Adams taunting me to make a second ace of the day over the PA system. Oh, and DLIII standing right behind me when I hit the shot. Amazed it went airborne and forward. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy WITB 2024 Driver: Qi10 LS 9* Ltd. ole gray
I was sixty years old and was playing a quick nine prior to a summer Wednesday night two man scramble. It was at Lake Jonesco where I was a member for many years. I had three of my buddies with me and we approached #5 which is a short par 3 over water. A foursome waved us through and watched as we hit our tee shots. My shot was straight at the pin and slammed dunked into the hole. I knew it was close when I heard the clank and then realized it stayed in the hole. The ball mark was on the edge of the cup so my first was really special. A couple years later I got my second one on the same hole. This time I hit the ball behind the green which slopes from back to front towards the pond. The ball had some spin on it and came right back to the hole and dropped in.... We had a fivesome playing that day so I had some of my old buds watching that one go down. BIG STU
Believe this or not as long as I have been playing golf I have never had one on a regulation course. Now I have had 2 fly in Double Eagles. Dad's old course we also had a Par 3 course longest hole was 110 yards no joke I had 198 as of the day it closed for good. Remember I had hundreds of rounds on it played it from age 5 . My first HIO on it I remember I was 7 years old and on the 5th hole which was 75 yards or so I worm burned a 5 iron up there. My Dad and some of his chronies were playing the 5th hole on the regulation course which the tee was ajacent and saw the whole thing. I remember my old man shouting "get into that hole for that boy!" All the old gamblers clapped and shouted The little executive course up the street has a par 3 course seperate and I have had 5 there since moving here. The same people own a par 3 on the North end of the beach and there used to be a big shootout there every Wednesday night. I made 2 in the same 9 hole round on the 4th and 6th hole. And yes I took the money that night because my putter was on fire that night too! MDGolfHacker
I've had a HIO. Mellomar golf course. It's only a 9 hole course with a landing strip across a few fairways (crazy I know). It was getting dark and we came up on a part 3. I hit my shot and kind of lost it in the air as it was getting dark. Thought it hit the green and went off into the sand trap, but my buddies said it spun back into the hole. Sure enough, when i got up to the green I checked the hole and there was my ball! I've had a couple more close calls. I'll post the pictures in a few... MDGolfHacker TSssWhat's In This Lefty's Bag? DawgDaddy
I got my only HIO came 2 years ago on the same hole ole gray has his two. It came during our weekly scramble, as it went in one of my playing partners said, it went in. I did not jump up and down or anything like that, I simply said, I finally got one. I was 67 years old at the time and had long since given up on ever getting one. When I show my card to folks they immediately remark "You shot a 60?" I laugh and tell them "nope it was a 4 man scramble and everyone had to sign the card for the scramble score." fozcycle
Mine was back in 1985 at Pine Ridge Country Club, a small 9 hole 14 Tee club that I was a member of. We were playing the regular Thursday 1:00 game so i had three witnesses as my Nicklaus 9 iron hit my Titleist DT100 to the green, just 110 yards away. The ball hit the green, took one hop and dropped into the cup. As we were playing a very small money game, that shot got everyone in my foursome $2.50 from the other groups. I've holed out from legitimate distances (not like 30 yd wedges) 135 and over approximately 6 times and I've only seen one go in. 180 for eagle. That was very very cool. I still argue that I holed out a drive on a par 4 in a practice round in college. Me and another guy hit great drives. One was about 20 ft right of the hole and one was in. DaveP043
I had my first ace in 1984, playing with my fiancee's father at his home club, in Cumberland, MD. On the 145-yard downhill 10th, I hit an 8-iron, pretty much online, and saw it bounce twice before it rolled in. They told me that my eyes were as big as saucers when I turned around. I didn't get to see my second one, in 2014. That was an uphill 174 yarder at my home course, I could tell that the 4-iron was on a good line, but was amazed when I found it in the hole. PMookie
My first dang near happened on the same hole a week earlier! There used to be a golf course up in the mountains of NC called Hanging Rock. It was set on the grounds of Hawksnest ski slope in Seven Devils. Not the greatest course for condition, but a TON of fun to play, and cheap for us college kids! App State held their first intramural golf match there and I was one of 5 from my fraternity to play. I come to this par 3 on the back 9 and I decide to hit seven iron. The ball rolls up, hits the pin and stops ON THE LIP! Well, the very next week we have our fraternity golf outing. The same hole was the closest to the pin hole. I get up there, grab my seven iron again, and hit the ball. It tracks dead at the pin, hits, bounces once, small second bounce, then BOOM- in the hole! All four of us start cheering like crazy!!! Since we're on a mountain, the sound of us carries across the course!!! Haha! At the end of the tourney I was awarded the closest to the pin prize: a certificate.... Haha! It was crazy to have it happen ONE week after I hit the pin on the same exact course!!!! PMookie
My second was on the 9th hole on Fazio Foothills at Barton Creek in Austin. Beautiful golf hole! The pic doesn't show it, but the tee was elevated about 10'-15' above the green. I was playing with my brother and his brother-in-law. The pin was playing around 155 (no lasers or GPS then) with a slight breeze quartering from left to right. Sounds funny now as I type it, but I grab my 7-iron (same club as my first hole in one) as I think it will be held-up by the wind a bit. I hit the ball with a tiny draw into the wind and it starts out nicely. I'm thinking it will be a tad long.... The ball comes down, bounces once, and BOOM! We weren't quite sure initially. We all thought so, but couldn't tell for sure. We ride the cart down, I jump off and try to act cool by not running, and sure enough, it's in the hole!!! Fivesome
I've never had one, and have only been in a group that has gotten one once. I was 14 and there were 3 of us playing a par 3 course in Lexington before baseball practice. It was a 135-yard hole with nothing but hardpan between the tee and green. The tee shot that hits the ground maybe 5 feet in front of the tee box and hops and skips all the way to the green and somehow ends up in the hole, looked like he was playing Plinko on Price is Right.
