SuperDave
I'd love to play but I can't. I'm too far away and would possibly be to be of a drive and expense for me. I wish you luck PlaidJacket and hope it turns out great. Sent from my SM-G920V using MyGolfSpy mobile app

PlaidJacket
Carolina... good suggestion. I'll get something posted. FYI: so far we have 14 members indicating interest. I believe 6 have stated they will play. I'll try and get a post up after while with a list of some sort. Currently I have received suggestions for 4 courses: White Bluff-Lake Whitney Terravista-Round Rock Wolf Dancer-Bastrop Lake Waco Golf Club-Waco I'm somewhat discounting Wolf Dancer because it's basically almost in San Antonio (Bastrop). It's a nice course and I've played it. I'm trying to stick with an area along I35 from about Round Rock up to Waco and perhaps Lake Whitney area. I want to mention that most everyone will have to make a drive to some degree or another. For me that drive will be no less than 4.5 hours. If you don't think you can get out of your backyard then this event is not for you. Just saying. PlaidJacket
Here's a list of the members that have expressed an interest in playing in this years event. I also have a spreadsheet put together but I can't post it from my office computer. In my spreadsheet I'm including the following information: forum alias, member first/last name, location/city, email address, phone, hcp., age. When I post the spreadsheet I will not include email address or phone. CRW
I haven't played Horseshoe Bay, but everyone I know that has says it's a must play. It's a resort course though, so I don't know if you can play without doing a stay and play package. There are multiple courses on the property too. Golfspy_CG2
If you come, then I am a definite maybe! I will figure out how to make it happen. HA...No pressure at all then... Initial checking on Flights show $185 from BWI to DFW...That's not bad at all. I'd fly to Dallas as that is where my sister is. so the outing is on Saturday, I'd either drive the 3 hours (according to Google Maps) to the Austin Area on Friday night for a Saturday am time, or if it's mid morning or later, I'd just drive down Saturday night. Then return to Dallas Saturday night for us to drive to PNS to see Mom, spend a couple days and drive back to Dallas to fly home, So I just need to confirm with Sis that the 23rd to the 25th or so is good for her to visit Florida. PlaidJacket
Horseshoe bay has 3 great courses... maybe 4 if you include the Summit. I've played the three a few times and they are great. My fav in order are Apple, Ram, then Slick. Never played Summit. It would be nice to have an event there but there might be some that would not want to spend that much. And I understand. Barton Creek is another location that's pricy but worth it IMO. If we're able to pull this outing off with enough participation I'll probably play a Friday round, spend the night, play Saturday and drive home afterwards. Maybe some of you other guys can do the same. PlaidJacket
Played the Bandit once about 4 years ago. Cool course and it was in nice condition at the time too. Kind of a tough finishing hole as I recall. A split fairway isn't it? I also recall a par 5 where you tee'd off from about 200' above the fairway. Wow! txstroker
I have played both the Bandit and Olympia Hills and agree that both are fun courses and would be great for this. However, if those courses are too far south, there are three courses in Sun City (Georgetown) that look to be very good courses (Legacy Hills, White Wing, and Cowan Creek) - all have pretty good reviews. I haven't played any of them but I have played multiple Sun City courses in Phoenix and they are always in great shape. Kenny B
Ruh Roh! I didn't pay much attention to the actual date because this sounded like a "can't miss" golf outing. Looked at the calendar and it's the day after my wedding anniversary!! My very first time playing golf was in CA on a business trip. I played with 7 other guys on my anniversary, and my wife (now ex-) was with me on the trip. Hmmm! Could that be...? Nah!! So now I have to ask permission! “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

JBones
This will be the fourth in four years, so I'm not so sure that it will honestly be the "first annual tournament" but all the previous ones were a blast. You can count me in if I can make it. My work schedule is kind of crazy so we will just have to see when it is. Location is not that big a problem for me, it simply depends on how things work out. The actual first attempt at a statewide event got 9 inches of rain. The only people to show up were the ones who were from out of state and didn't get the weather forecast. The second attempt we had a decent turn out but snow the previous week made conditions less than ideal. On the second day, it rained and was cold. The third attempt was very windy but could not get many people to commit so there was just 4 of us. I hope you schedule better weather than Zeasy and I did. I looked at the forecast and still chose to come down. I had to throw away two pairs of golf shoes because of that 9" of rain. I'm pretty sure when I got there, I didn't even say hi, I just went straight to the bar for a bourbon. Follow @GolfspyBones
