50 feet???? Planning on doing your whole set or do you have lots of putters? My biggest concern is how it changes the feel of the putter. But that is subjective and I probably have to try it and see what I think

Personally I can't tell any difference in feel.  YMMV but the shaft in a putter isn't doing a lot and the weight isn't noticeable to me.

I guess on on the other side of the coin and think that vibrations contribute to feel and do come up the shaft I know grips will significantly impact how a putter feels. I just think the wrap may dampen the feel But for a few bucks it would be a fun experiment.

I have several putters and I was also thinking about dong my wedges. You won't notice any weight difference, maybe 5-10gm. I will weigh my next one before and after yo find out for sure.

For a heat source I use a heat gun.  Not sure if a hair dryer would get hot enough, it may but it would take longer.

I just weighed the stuff I have.  34" of if weighs 16 grams.  So just under 1/2 gram per inch.  Since the weight is distributed evenly over the entire shaft I really can't tell the difference.  I also have not noticed any "dampening" effect on feedback.  If I hit it on the toe or heel I can still tell.

You can get 8' for $7 shipped.  That's easily enough to do 2 putters.  Pretty cheap experiment if you want a black shaft and if you don't like it you can just cut it off.

Damn that's definitely too much weight for the irons then. I already swing logs.

I may do my putter and wedges though. Be looking like DJ  B) soon.

Except like .00000001% as good. lol

Fair enough. I do like heavy clubs.

Except I recently went back to my X7's(around 135grams I think) and I'd hate to know what they felt like with 16g added lol.

That's the stuff I bought.  Doesn't say if 2:1 or 3:1.  I would think either would be fine though, it's just how much it shrinks down and either one will shrink small enough to be tight around the hosel.

I got the same one but could not for the life of me get it over the butt end of the club. Was it easy to slip on because it seems too small to go over the grip end?

Let's start with the obvious question first, did you take the grip off?

5/8" is .625. Every shaft I've ever seen is either .580 or .600 so unless you have something completely wacky it should fit over.

Worst case would be .610.   I guess the next obvious question is did you preshrink?   Is the diameter actually 5/8"?

It's an EVNROLL putter so it shouldn't be and no it was not pre-shrunk!

That is the exact scene I was thinking about when I read cnosils comment.

I just can't get videos to load, so i thought I would make a smart comment

I just did my ER5 so as long as it's actually 5/8" shrink tubing it should be fine.  If it's not fitting maybe you were sent the wrong size?

Unless you catch it on something sharp it's going to hold up ok.  I had 10+ rounds on a previous putter with it on and no issues.

The nice part is that I blow my grips on with air, so if it starts tearing or getting ratty I can just pull the grip and reapply.  The stuff I bought was enough to do 3 putters so it's only a dollar or two per installation.

It's on my gamer for this season so I'll get a better sense of durability once my course opens and I can get some rounds in.
