Can you powder coat a putter head?

As I mentioned in another thread, I'm thinking of refinishing my STX Envision after my new toys from STX arrive. I'm wanting a white polymer finish, but I have a friend that does powder coating. Can I have that putter powder coated white? Will the finish hold up? Has anyone tried it? Is there any reason not to?

Powder coating is a polymer finish. There are other variants as well, but powdercoating is definitely one type of polymer finish. I powdercoated one of my SeeMore FGP's (black then the second time went with white) years back. It holds up just fine unless you're putting on concrete and ground your putter a lot. I didn't do either so it held up until I wanted a color change.

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

A real good quality powdercoater can get the job done with minimal change in feel. I have owned a couple that were powdercoated and I believe it was put on a bit thick. The feel was not one that I was wanting to keep in the bag, so I sold them. Have it done by a reputable powdercoater that understands your goal of keeping it as thin as is feasible and you should not have any problems.

BTW, powdercoating and my polymer are different processes. Just wanted to clarify. Not knocking the powder, just clearing up a question before it is posted, :) .

Get pics of before and after if you have the work done.

Oh, and yes, the powdercoat, if done well is extremely durable.
