Looks like Callaway is expanding their reach into soft good and has purchased Ogio for 75.5 Million..

It was the "in-cash" part that got me.  Nice to have that kind of spare change rolling around.  

 

Have always like Cally's bags - not so much the Ogio's.  Wasn't overly impressed with the quality/longevity, but it did look bitchin'.

Somewhat related, bought some Callaway stock a few years ago after I'd read they were a big investor in Top Golf. Not sure if they still have that stake, but it does look like Top Golf is successful!

The ogio golf bags don't compare to the cally bags imo. But everything else that ogio makes is top notch. Love my travel golf bag and backpack.

Will ogio continue under its own name or convert it all to Callaway?

Ogio is in an few other sports so my guess they will continue with the name as they already have brand recognition.

 

My first golf bag was an ogio exo. Loved the bag and lasted about 11 years. Only got rid of it because the legs finally gave out and the bag torqued causing it to fall over. I did have a pocket rip after about 7 years but it wasn't a deal breaker. Replaced it with a sun mountain for 5.

I've used Ogio bags for years. Especially the Grom. The zipperless ball pocket, ball silo, woode club management is all top notch. But when switched to walking the majority of my rounds I bought a Cally Hyperlite 3.5 and what a difference. In my opinion, Ogio doesn't have a comparable walking bag in their line up. If you always ride, then they might be for you.

I currently have an Ogio bag and it's serving me well. It would be nice if it had a tad more storage room however I'm happy with it.

My wife bought an Ogio cart bag several years ago and it lasted maybe a year and a half.  Rain cover ripped, pocket zippers didn't work, holes started appearing.  When I bought her the Sun Mountain MicroCart, I also bought the SM Sync bag.  There is no comparison.  That bag will last many years!

I've never owned an Ogio bag before but they look nice and good quality from what I've seen in the shops.  I think it's a good move by Callaway.  Bring in some knowledge on that segment into the organization and hopefully make their soft goods side more competitive.

I had Ogio Grom carry bag for couple of years and served me well. I now use a Ogio Chamber bag to keep club at bay when I ride or walk with a push cart, it is on the heavier side but since I'm not carrying it, it's okay. Can't wait to see what type of bag Callaway-Ogio bags will like.

Makes sense. Callaway has been using Ogio technology for a few years now. The Callaway bag my wife bought me last year had the Ogio divider system.
