Canucklehead
I used to by bulk bags of the wooden tees but the I tried Wedge Tees. I lose them before they can break (one normally last me about 3/4 to the whole season). They clean your grooves out and fix ball marks so no need for another tool in my pocket. For the par 3s I still use wooden tees or find one laying around the box. I don't tee it up very much with my irons so doesn't need to be too long. I've personally never seen a pro with their face on a bag of tees. Ryguy Sent from my E6853 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
Jonnythec
Used a few. Had my friend try one. It was bright orange. We never found it. Tee box was open. I walked a 10 yard diameter. Nothing. silver & black
Half of the time I don't think about picking my tee up! My buddies always harp at me for leaving my tee in the ground. To me, a tee is just a tee.... I really don't care about it. They are cheap and plentiful. Now, if I could only think about golf balls the same way....................... cksurfdude
Well I'm glad I'm not the only guy happy to use a colorful Martini tee! I'd gotten a pack of pink for my wife and borrowed one on one of those days I just couldn't get the stoopit ball balanced (the eyes are going, the hands are not that shaky .. yet....). Also glad I'm not the only one that scavenges for broken tees on Par 3s or other non-driver holes. On MattF's recommendation, I bought a few FlexHeads to try out; have not played them yet. Hoping the three prong top can help me balance the ball more easily and quickly. Other than that I also prefer the.plain wooden, not painted, tees; shorter (1 1/2" I think). I have never seen her break one. She does lose them occasionally and gives them to playing partners to try. Since I don't use wooden tees, I can't just break one for a par 3. I was always scavenging for broken tees when it occurred to me, hell I know the next hole is a par 3, so I started picking up a broken tee on the par 4 hole before it. Lots of them there. So I'm helping to clean up the tees on the par 4, and then the next guy on the par 3 won't have to look as hard. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
fozcycle
I purchased a group of Firecracker Tees several years ago and only used them with my driver. They are like a zero friction tee on Steroids! After using the up, by losing them, I am using wood 3 1/2" tees. I have so many tees, that I am honestly trying to use them up.....not happening, because I just can't pass up a tee on the ground... PDT816
I just use whatever I find laying around or the ones the pro shop keeps available in a bowl. I like Stinger tees for some reason when I find them. Once I bought a 500 ct. box of Stingers. But I made a mistake. When I was ordering; the website (at that time anyway) said, "do not order the Stinger Pro model unless you have a steady hand". So what do I do? Order the Pro model. Which has a head the size of a pencil eraser if that. Needless to say I donated the entire box to a local HS golf team. Those guys have steady hands. Old guys do not.I like the competition Stinger tees. DawgDaddy
I have been playing Epoch tees for a long time, about 6 years now. They rarely break, one pack would probably last the reast of my life if I did not lose them occasionally. I use a broken tee for par 3s and hitting hybrids or fairway woods when teeing off. I probably have over a thousand wooden tees here at the house as I still can't just leave them laying on the ground either when I spot them. Fireinthehole
I've been spoiled since our club offers free tees 3 1/4" and 2 3/4" and i grab a handful whenever i go. I got a set of the "4 more yard" tees and they weren't too bad, no added sound from the tee and felt like hitting nothing but the ball. I think Mygolfspy did a test with them a few years back and the claim was somewhat verified. Most of the time I lost most of them, i think I broke one that i must've used for 3 months straight. PlaidJacket
Two things.... First and after this past weekend I've come to the conclusion that giving away (at least at my course) free tees is doing nothing but creating litter on the tee boxes and range. The damn things are everywhere! I'm going to ask that they stop. The tees my course gives away are plastic. Although I'm told they are biodegradable? Although, I've never seen one in any state of decomposition. Second... I don't normally buy golf tees. (read above) But, I decided over the weekend to buy a 2-pak of the 4-yards More 15.7-yards More tees. Also, I don't usually buy into golf hype. But this time I have. I know my driver distance quite well. So after I get these things I'll report back with my findings. I defiantly won't be leaving one on the tee box. (in 2011 MGS said they'd revisit this golf tee/distance experiment in the near future. Perhaps 2017?) I have only broken these tees once or twice, but I have seen a couple of broken ones on the tee box. What color did you get? PlaidJacket
So, how many more yards did I gain today? 15.7 more yards? Nope. 12 more? Didn't happen. 8 more? Guess again. 4-Yards More??? My best and longest drives in today's round were just like other rounds using a plain old white 2.75" tee. You know, the free kind. After the 5th hole the pic below is what happened to my 4-Yards More tee. After that I played a regular tee the remainder of my round.
