Kenny B
You can still see trees!! My course is right next to the Columbia River, and it can get pretty foggy. The problem is that on most holes there are no trees!! Just a wide open gray space. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Kenny B
I've never personally put much faith in the GPS numbers but still keep an old unit in the bottom of the bag to occasionally shepherd me around a socked in front nine. I have never had an occasion to doubt my GPS. It gives me the numbers I need and having used it on many different courses with good results. I trust it. On a golf trip to Central Oregon the carts had GPS but after a couple of holes, I figured out that they were off by a whole club! So I starting using mine with much better results. I use a laser for par 3's and maybe to certain spots for lay-ups, but the GPS is just quicker and easier. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

I use a laser for par 3's and maybe to certain spots for lay-ups, but the GPS is just quicker and easier. I should have further clarified. GPS units are certainly better than nothing (i.e. laser paperweight on a marine layer morning) and undoubtedly shave time off the shot selection process. But with a scoring club in my hands every yard matters and watching my admittedly old GPS unit slowly oscillate over a 3 yard spectrum before settling on an averaged distance to a hypothetical front/back collar mow line doesn't personally inspire a great deal of confidence. Not that I can ever recall feeling particularly confident about hitting shots into impenetrable fog banks but the fault there lies in the space between my ears and technology covering that gap has yet to be meshed with the outdoor golfing community. Surely golf-centric GPS linked VR technology can't be too far down the road. Imagine being able to play golf in the middle of the night. Never mind...I just imagined the inevitable virtually rendered billboards lining every fairway. ______S9-1 Pro D - Matrix Ozik XCON 6 S ______S9-1 Pro 15* - Matrix Ozik XCON 7 S ________3DX 17* - Matrix Ozik Altus Hybrid SG ______ICON Black 4-PW - KBS Tour V S __________588 RTG 49 RTX 52.10 56.12 - DG S400 ______Amazing Grace NYC Tour CS _______'19 TP5X (the preceding have all been gamer approved) "The most important shot in golf is the next one“ - Ben Hogan
