Hell it ain't broke in good until it has two or three scratches on it ;)

... I don't care about scratches on the face or sole but hate that first noticeable scratch on the crown or topline. Especially when it comes from dropping it, hitting something with it accidentally are banging it against another club. But truthfully the only clubs I keep long enough to garner some character are my wedges and putter.

In my line of work, you kind of acquire an appreciation for old, quality tools with a good bit of patina. It shows they were used with skill for many years to make a living with. Golf clubs probably don't belong in that category, but I feel the same way about them. Quality clubs that have been used for their intended purpose have earned their war wounds, so to speak...lol. Mine have a few scratches and dings, but I don't care.
