JudgeSmails
Curious what sites ( or maybe apps) you guys input your scores to, for stat tracking and whatnot I used 2 different ones last year (oobgolf and keepmygolfscore), why 2 you ask, because each was just ok and Iiked to look at certain things on one and not the other. I found a new one this year, and entered my scores from last year. I really like the layout quite a bit better and it seems the stats are much easier to access/read. https://freegolftracker.com/ it's free, and I'm not affiliated or anything, just thought I'd pass it along and see what you guys are using. Liberty Ball Markers
I use an app called swing by swing to keep scores, and enter stats as I go as well. I transfer those numbers to my a spreadsheet that I built to track stats. I also put scores into an app called hdcptracker to keep a somewhat decent idea of handicap. Big Canoer
I use GHIN. At our club if you want to play in any club tournaments you must have a verifiable handicap. Our club uses GHIN though many clubs here in Georgia use other systems other than GHIN. The golf group I play with 3 times a week has a money game, $2 or $5 into a pot. If you want into the game you must maintain a handicap as we play a modified Stableford game which needs to be based of a good Course handicap and we vet that by going into GHIN. GHIN has always been a great program where you can enter your scores via a smartphone, computer in proshops, or at home on the computer. Downside to GHIN is it can be expensive at $35 per year v. some free ones but again it depends on how you enjoy your rounds and what your club uses. cksurfdude
Just found an app called (surprise) Golf GPS from Golfzon. Have not yet used it on-course, but appears to be a combo GPS plus shot tracker, and score keeper. Do not know if you can upload to GHIN. But interface is clean and simple; one big "+" button on the screen to mark your shot. Can download course maps at home to play data-free and move from hole to hole quickly. You can also preview a new course before playing it. Profile Settings give you a default bag with default yardages for each club which are easily customized; clubs can be deleted or added and renamed. Not sure how extensive, or not..., the shot analysis is .. sure it's not Arccos/Microsoft extensive but then this is a free - tagless! - smartphone app. WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ... oldfashionedcowboy
I used Golfshot up until Christmas when I got Arccos. Nothing is better than the 360. It's seem less and gives you strokes gained on every shot. It tracks distance, fairways, sand shots, putts etc. then you get a break down of handicap per aspect of the game (driving, approach, putting, etc). It also calculates smart distances with each club based on actual gps distances. Well worth the investment. Changed how I practice and look at my own game. You and me and the devil makes three... BIG STU
I use Grint. That was what I was doing when I was thinking about getting my AM status back and playing in some CGA events. Then I got caught up in all the conforming club thing especially the wedge thing and the posting of handicap rounds. I said screw it less trouble playing Super Senior events on some of the minis if I choose to do so. I am actually having so much fun now playing with the couple of different groups I play with and playing a 7 club set up walking I do not care about comp anymore. I have not done the Grint thing in over a year. There is also a guy down on this end of the beach who is what I call a computer genius and has the software on his computer to calculate handicap and stats if one wants. Jiro
I just found out that my Nike golf app for keeping scores no longer works and they have removed it from the App Store. Casualty of them getting out of the equipment industry I guess. I'll be looking for a new one now and may try some of the others listed here. I kind of liked the simplicity of the Nike app, it wasn't gps tracking or anything so it didn't drain the battery. It did have scorecards for pretty much any course and you entered in your strokes, putts, fairways hit as you go--basically just an electronic scorecard that you didn't have to transfer data to the computer later. Anyone using something like this that they would recommend?
