Ping 2011 Putter Line-Up

2011 Ping Scottsdale Putters

Today...Ping was the first golf company we know of to tweet from their annual sales meeting. The sales meetings are typically where they launch their new products and show off all their new gear to their reps. Typically this was the first time anyone got to see the new product lines...but with sites like MyGolfSpy and others the reps are often times some of the last to see the companies future equipment. A note to golf companies..."times they are a changin'."

 

But Ping seems to be getting the message...because they decided to be somewhat proactive by letting not just their reps and staff but the whole world the chance to see all their new sticks right on Twitter. Today they have been tweeting about all the new equipment for 2011...and this is what they have shown so far. I think it was a great idea...so kudos to Ping once again for being ahead of the curve in the golf world.

 

So here ya go....here are Ping's new putters for 2011! Looks like there will be 14 models with a Thermoplastic Elastomer Insert. The putters in the line-up will include:

• Ping Anser 2
• Ping B60
• Ping Half Pipe
• Ping Tomcat
• Ping ZB
• Ping Pickemup
• Ping Craz-e Too
• Ping Y-Worry
• Ping Hohum
• Ping Wolverine H
• Ping Wolverine C
• Ping Wolverine

2011 Ping Karsten Putters

The 2011 Karsten putter line will take classic and traditional designs and attempt to enhance them with modern technology. They will feature a satin finish and thinner top line. Is it just me or have these been re-visited many times before? Well nevertheless they are being released again but this time as the Karsten Line.

Anser 2 doesn't look half bad I guess. A lot better than the Notches cut out of the in series...

My U of M grad parents will both be rolling the Wolverine for sure.

Karsten My Day is a nice addition to the line.

Wish they would make a karsten tess or sedona

I personally think ping has WAY too many putter sku's. Its hard enough to have success in the putter realm when you only have one or two different product line ups. But when you have 3, It just doesn't make sense to me. Plus other than their traditional shaped malets and blades, all their other putters are as they say U-GLY!

I like the Wolverine-H but i also agree. WAY TOO MANY PUTTERS!! The ansers look nice and traditional but idk ill stick with my Scotty's! I still think nothing will beat a Scotty Cameron! No way No how!

I don't really know you but please tell me you have heard of these.

 

Machine, Mills, Byron Morgan, Lajosi, Nead, Mannkrafted, Bettinardi, and a heck of a lot more.

 

Just saying there are a lot more other putter makers out there...

Nothing here really jumps out and makes me think "I can't wait to roll one of these!", but I am very interested in seeing how the new insert feels. I'll suspend judgement until then!

Wow not only does the K15 look like crap but these are even worse. I think PING needs to figure out what going on and get back to their roots.

Rolled these in the shop yesterday.

WAY nicer that I expected. The insert feels amazing with a pleasing tone.

I actually enjoyed rolling the Y Worry quite a bit.

These are worth checking out IMO

I agree - have rolled these and feel is awesome. Ball comes off face of mallets very smooth. Function over form has always been a Ping trademark

the Pickemup model might just be the best putter ive ever used. balance, weight, feel, and control are as good or better than many models that are 3x the $$$

The Black Finish is realy pretty nice and the insert is a very different feel than anything PING has tried before. Its also very different than an Odyssey insert. The Anser 2 feels very light, but the ball does come off the face hot. Any PING lover should check these out, and if you wrote them off by the pictures alone, go pick one up, they are more charming in person.
