mtisdale and I played a course outside of Woodstock, ON on Monday (it was a holiday) called Innerkip Highlands. Great course. #5 is one of the nicest holes with an island green. Of course, I hit that boy bad from 140 out (you can see my ball on the top left part of the green, the closer one to the hole). 17 also has a nice carry over water on a par 3. It's the one course I would say is worth the higher price tag. Staff is great and the course just allows you to enjoy it..... even if you shoot in the 90's. :).

 

I went to the open as well. Draws back the memories on every hole. Hope you make it soon. And good luck!

the courses are so unique.And some feel so secluded.Almost like every hole is by itself in the middle of the woods.Just a beautiful state if you golf or enjoy the outdoors

So there was a notice that they were aerating the greens at the local course that my league plays at.  We didn't have the league yesterday due to the holiday but I decided to play anyway.  I've played where they had aerated greens before and - while frustrating - you can at least hit a putt.

 

I only played 15 holes since - believe it or not - another men's and women's league actually played, but almost every green looked like this.  You really could not hit a putt.

 

Now, I'm not a greenskeeper so I don't know exactly what "aerating" means but this is something I've never seen before.  Also - why don't they do this at like 5 am and then brush the sand off ??

 

BTW - this could have easily gone into the "Rant" thread !!

We usually close one side of the course and do the front one week and the back the next week because it takes so long and you can't top dress until there's no dew on them

Ah. That makes sense. This is a local muni so they probably didn't want to miss out on the revenue. I would've expected them to say they were dressing the greens instead of aerating..
