yungkory
Doesn't look that bad. I would play at any course in Hawaii on any given day! Sent from my SM-T580 using MyGolfSpy mobile app Definitely lucky to live here, but with so many better courses within 10 minutes of this one, I'd rather go elsewhere. The bunkers were like mud and it hasn't rained in a few weeks, the greens were riddled with bare patches, and the marshals were all over us in the front, then put a 6 some in front of us on 10. Then before we tee off on 10, I notice there's a twosome behind us. I tell them to go through and they decline and ride us on the entire back 9. Oh well, at least I got to play golf today. Actually about the same time here. I volunteer once a week at a small 9-hole course at a VA Hospital nearby; I do the closing shift where you put the carts away and the drive the course behind the last players picking up the flags. Usually do Monday closing but this week another guy needed to swap. So with our extended summer-like weather there was a late rush of people going out, plus the owner let someone else out after official closing time. They finished just in time, too, just before it got fully dark! yungkory, Kenny B and Rickp 3 Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ... ddryan
I'm afraid we may have let ddryan down in that regard. He was nice enough to offer us some of his private swing oil, mid round. But I was in uniform (meaning a polo with our course name) and it was still technically work hours. And Wahoo was afraid if he took the bottle, ddryan might not get it back We didn't have much time for a full fledged 19th hole, but most certainly will the next time. Not at all- I offered because it is the right thing to do- I make no judgment on whether individuals partake or not- and I would never push something on anyone- I have great respect and a deep understanding of the issues which surround abuse and addiction. I had a long drive after, and was playing hockey that night, so a beer did not seem like the right thing to do, but as you say, there will be other times when we can toss one back! Again, thanks for the great time! cksurfdude, Rickp, MattF and 1 other 4 Quote What's in the bag? Again, thanks for the great time! While I appreciated the offer, as I told you at the time, several decades ago, I got lucky and a police officer let me go and told me to go straight home. I guess one could say that was a "Come to Jesus moment" for me. Ever since, if I'm driving I will drink maybe one beer at the most. However, if I'm not driving, one may need to drag me out of the 19th hole. If one is driving under the influence and harms another person, I'm not sure how one lives with that. On a hot summer day, the last thing I need to do is drink beer. It will dehydrate you and it appears that I may have a problem with chronic dehydration from the get go. My buds and I enjoyed an annual four day buddy trip at a venue where the course, the rooms, the restaurant and the bar were on the same campus. We parked our cars when we arrived and did not need them until we left. It freed us to have a good time. I think such is the smart way to have a multiple day outing. Plus, Carolina posted our pictures, so many of our fellow spies know that we are more than just a couple of pretty faces.
