Pics from the course

Recommended Posts

Forgot to upload these yesterday. This is Warwick CC in RI. Amazing views and the course is far harder than it looks at first glance. The shots from the tee below have to go over 2 hazards to a well protected green. It’s intimidating!! (I was 3 feet off the front thankfully)

Very nice, had an opportunity to play there many years ago with a customer.

The greens there are no joke. Even a 3 foot putt had more break than we thought. Tight fairways too. All in all a great course, wish I could play it again soon.

No. 18 at The Royal in Canadian Lakes, Michigan. Long par 5. Our scramble ended up with a birdie. Brother-in-law hit a nice drive and I somehow stuck a 3 wood from 225 for an eagle opportunity.

On a short getaway with my wife for our 10th anniversary. She doesn't play, but she enjoys walking the course with me. We packed her clubs, and she hit a few balls on the range before the round.

And she literally broke the PW clubhead. I've seen heads come off and shafts break. I can't recall seeing the head itself break:

Play better or worse with the wife along? My wife rode along last week (she would play, but shoulder surgery limited her to just riding), and I think she thought I was a little crazy for how I talked through each shot. Definitely played well, though.

To give an idea of how wet my home course is at the moment, this was my tee shot on the lone par 5 on the back nine. Hit a little hook that went into the left rough.

IMG_2202.HEICwhen you’re 1+ through 3 and you just nailed your 2nd shot on a par 5, it’s rain be damned! I shot a 41 on the front (last Sunday) best front 9 of the season so far.

My home course conditions are better than I have ever seen them.  This was taken on #6 Saturday morning.  I'm typically the first person off every weekend at my home club.  We have had well below average temperatures all spring.  It has been mid 50's overnight and high 60's to very low 70's for the daily high for most of the spring heading into summer.  I believe it is coming to an end though.  It was 86* yesterday and expected to be close to similar today.

I was on a work trip and traveling to Harrisburg PA, along the way we found this really cool course called Totteridge about an hour outside Pittsburgh - very underrated and great value.  Really in great condition as well.

It's been like that at my club for the last couple of weeks...even worse, get spin back on the driver. 😱

Great first PGA Jr match for my son this season. He and his partner won 2.5 to .5, after seeing him out there it’s way obvious how short his clubs are for him. He’s got a set from his pro to try out after tomorrow’s match. He’s also in the awkward place where he’s nearly 6” taller than last year so his distances are so much more and he’s trying to adjust.
