Blackstone CC in Aurora, CO. Tough stretch of three holes. This one in particular. Smart play is to layup left off the picture to 130-150 and have a wedge over this draw, but.........
Ok I laid up but couldn’t resist dropping a second ball and seeing if I could make the 270 carry to a 278 pin. IMG_4656.JPG

I was fortunate enough to be invited out for a round at my buddy's private course - Franklin Country Club; there is a 5 figure initiation fee to join and it's not exactly cheap from there but my goodness does membership have it's privileges..
One of the nicest ranges I've ever been to.  As many Titleist practice balls as you could want, alignment sticks available at every hitting station.
IMG_20190710_104032.jpg.071e4dd64a8b9b30ad6406640c04bdc2.jpgIMG_20190710_103602.jpg.5ca3062a4b9d08e6302b301588f3458c.jpg

The course was immaculate...not a single weed anywhere.  The fairways were lush and the greens were amazing. Tough - very tough - but fair and true and smooth as a babies bottom.

And they had the fancy-shmancy golf carts with automated tracking and GPS...

Whew - i'd never get bored of this place!

This Franklin Massachusetts?

Played 9 with my daughter Reilly today. My son opted to be a range rat instead of playing today.

Lots of fun out there with this guy again, driving the cart for his PGA Jr match. When he figures out his driver, he is going to be so darn good. His irons and short game already are fantastic.

Oh and he also needs to learn to not hit hero shots like this one

Picture overload here!! This is how I had to spend my weekend. It’s a hard life, but hey, someone has to do it. As you can see there’s a lot of slope once you leave the tee box or off the fairways. Better be accurate with the big dog. That’s me on the far left in gray and black, and that’s my uncle with the tournament trophy. He had to shoot 74-72, course rate of 72.10 and slope of 127.

The poor course didn’t know what hit it with me, my son, my brother, and my dad out there!!

ETA: This is Little Harbor Country Club here in MA, it's just off the Cape. Not a bad little course, only 2 par 4s but a number of longer par 3s. Definitely one of the nicer executive courses I've been on, even if the greens were slow and fuzzy. Juniors pay their age, which is very cool. My brother is used to "Arkansas golf" and quickly realized hitting low punches up here would result in being 50 yards out, rather than running the ball all the way up to the green LOL!

Pin high just to the left of the green from 275 out.

I think I mentioned this to you B4 but I love that track. My NE salesman lives in Franklin and has been a member for decades. I played there as much as I could. The trip from my house in central CT wasn’t that bad a ride.

Do you remember the old clubhouse? It was terrible! The new one is really nice and great for Member-Guest outing.

My last time there at a member-guest a Member got a hole-in-one and bought everyone a drink at the dinner. That cost him!

It's a fortune to join but one of those courses that I could play over and over again.  Just a lot of great variety of long/short/easy/hard holes and it's fair; I usually play 2x a year - once with my buddy and once in a Veteran's day tournament.

That’s the interesting part my friend is incredibly “frugal Irishman” but I guess that’s his getaway.

Played at the Coeur d"Alene Resort Course Sunday with my buddy Dave who picked up the bill on everything! Thanks Dave!!!!
Our golfing stunk, but what a day! We were assigned a Forecaddie (Ty) and rode the course in one of the most luxurious carts I've ever seen...

You get unlimited range balls to warm up on and hit into the lake. They have separate chipping and putting greens and you also may opt for a pre-round sports massage right there on the range! They also make and give each player a custom bag tag with your name on it...NICE!

This is hole #6, a par-3 playing around 155. Both of us had a GIR, but walked off with bogey...

My buddy's tee shot to the world famous floating green on #14 into the wind. He made par and my attempt(s) shall go unmentioned...🤬

That’s a decent ride for a rental, don’t see that very often, nice track
