Playing on a trip to Portugal. Played West Cliffs yesterday, which I can't recommend highly enough. Just utterly gorgeous and challenging in all the right ways. Greens like velvet. Might get to play it again next week if I'm lucky.

Yesterday the final guy in my foursome turned 65, granting him permission to walk down to the Gold Tees.

Here is his first tee shot....from the Gold.....notice that we temporarily relocated the Gold Tees in front of the red tees....LOL

What happened to turning senior at fifty,  Foz?

Reminds me of when I first hurt my back really badly, 21 years ago.

I was out of work for a few weeks, but when I returned, they put me on half days for the first week to sort of get back into the flow gently.

My wife and I worked for the same company and in the same office building on the company's local campus.  We drove in together. She usually drove in the morning while I snoozed and I'd drive home at night.

Instead of hanging around the office waiting for her while I was on half days, I'd go catch a different film at the cineplex each day, then pick up my wife

I was fifty, the age for senior tickets was 62, but the young girl at the ticket office gave me a senior ticket--the first movie on Monday. For the next twelve years, until I was really 62, I 'd ask for senior tickets and get them.  Hard living has its own minuscule rewards.

If I ever get back to golf, I'll need platinum tees.

I played in a one day FSGA event today at the Golf Club of Amelia Island, which is private or only available to resort guests at the Ritz Carlton on property there. Just a side note, I looked at booking a room at the Ritz here and the cheapest basic hotel room I could find, overlooking the dumpster in the parking lot was $752. Rooms overlooking the Atlantic Ocean were well over $1,000 a night. Um yeah, sure, no problem. And for reference purposes, because I live 3 hours from here, I had to leave home at 4:30 am to allow myself enough time to get there and have time for a proper warm up.

IMG_2269.JPGAnd speaking of warm up. Dude, it's 95 degrees with 90% humidity. But here we have DJ, Jr. from head to toe. What's with the pants?? 🤪. I stayed for the awards of this event. DJ, Jr was nowhere to be found.

We moved to the white tees as everyone is now over 70 years old. Yardage varying from high 5,000 to VERY low 6,000. Obviously with this age group there are various health problems.

This reminds me of a funny story about an eagle.

I was out with a friend of mine and he hit his ball into the trees. As we in the trees looking for it I see that there is an eaglet underneath the one tree. We both take pictures and move on. Two trees later there was another eaglet again we stop and look. We then moved on and after we finished the hole my friend goes, "Hey look at that, there is an eagle standing on that mailbox, that must be the Momma eagle." He goes to look at it and starts taking pictures. I come over to look and I say "Why are you taking pictures of that persons eagle statue?" To this day he swears it was an actual eagle and every time I play that course, the statue is still there.
